Trump is fixated on the trade deficit as a supposed measure of economic health, and he keeps claiming he’s turning it around.

It set a record in 2018 and might well set another one in 2019 despite recent declines from the 2018 peak.
Today's Commerce report shows U.S. goods and services trade deficit in 2019 will either be first or second highest since 2008. Goods trade gap is down this year with Trump's main tariff target China, but up with Canada, Mexico, EU, Japan, SKorea, Malaysia, Argentina and Brazil.
Yes. Trump has averaged 64 false claims per week since July 8, when I started counting at CNN.
