That margin among voters age 45+ is historically (and catastrophically) low for the @GOP.

Trump鈥檚 fear and loathing hasn鈥檛 won over the majority of America.

鈥淲e can't replace all of those people by simply picking up farm country and the Iron range of Minnesota because, frankly, there's more growth in suburban areas than there is in rural areas.鈥 cnn.com/2018/11/12/pol鈥

As Republicans attack Social Security, Medicare and Obamacare, they鈥檙e also attacking their base.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
The problem with the GOP is that they have relied on propaganda to sell unpopular policy. They get people on their side by spreading fear of immigrants and other social issues. They know that cutting SS, Medicare and healthcare in general are extremely unpopular.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Could it be that GOP gave tax breaks to billionaires/corporations and want to pay for it by slashing SS, Medicare, and Medicaid? Could it be that the GOP refuses to put a check on blatant corruption in the Trump WH? Could it be the climate science denial? It's all of the above.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
You can鈥檛 cater to white supremacists and also get the votes of younger Americans. There鈥檚 nothing inspirational about this GOP.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
The 67% vote by young people for Dems is largest in decades, by a big margin. And turnout was higher although donr have those numbers. pic.twitter.com/KWLFfBxbK9

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Get ready for a bunch of "the polls are wrong" tweets, despite the polls having predicted the mid terms (and HRC's margin of victory in the 2016 popular vote) very well.

Try not lying to people.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Every day of Trump will continue the slide. Was a Republican all my life but never again

In reply to @FrankLuntz
I guess openly embracing Nazis, KKK, White Suprmacists, putting brown refugee babies in prisons separated from their parents isn't good politics. Also blowing up the debt and deficit, taking healthcare from people. So many good ideas on your side Frank. Who knew.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
That's why the current Republican party doesn't want to count all votes and will try to gerrymander every state behind recognition. The party has fallen so far when they decided to become a cult of Trump worshippers.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Most people of my acquaintance who are over 65 are anti trump and most definitely not republican!

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Baby boomers woke up and realized if they keep GOP in control their Social Security and Medicare is threatened. It will only get worse if GOP insist on deny people affordable healthcare.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Sad that it is like this but not surprising due to the overly liberal/socialist teaching within our school systems. Conservative educators are out numbered 10-1 and to remain safe they tend to not speak their minds on school grounds.

Better get to work fashioning some new dog whistles!

In reply to @FrankLuntz
The next generation is not voting GOP.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
The GOP has lost any pretense of being a national party. It is shrinking rapidly as the politics of fear and the alt-right news bubble insulates them from reality. Once Texas flips over the next decade its game over

Whether it happens in 2 years or 6, the GOP will need a post Trump realignment. He鈥檚 a stop gap. But at least whatever happens will happen with a conservative Supreme Court.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Well it was a blue wave after all! We flipped Flake鈥檚 seat and there鈥檚 still a small chance that Nelson pulls through. Gillum not so much. Impossible spread to close.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Can you imagine if there wasn鈥檛 a whole lot of gerrymandering?

In reply to @FrankLuntz
What's your point? Fewer & fewer real American's will ever vote for the GOP. Not a surprise to any real American who believes in our beloved Country, our Democracy & our Constitution.

As you get older, you鈥檒l grow more conservative, they told us. Now I鈥檓 a parent, and instead I鈥檓 a Leftist.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Father and stepfather both age 80 were life long Republicans. No more!

In reply to @FrankLuntz
GOP have insulted everyone but NRA and rich donors. The rest of us are pissed

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Guess the dems staying on point with healthcare message made a difference.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
The American neo nazi Party (fka the gop) deserves far worse. Thank god the decent majority of people in this country have seen them for what they are and are starting to vote accordingly.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
and how many elections do you see 350,000 more votes for a #republican governor in a county over same party senator? #ArizonaElection #StopTheSteal #MaricopaCounty #VoterID now. right now @realDonaldTrump

In reply to @FrankLuntz
...and richly deserved.

I feel like looking at these numbers, unless the @GOP radically disenfranchises a lot of voters, they will be losing a generation of voters. Time for this party to die. They don鈥檛 deserve to lead.

Young people, you have the power...use it. #vote

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Smells like hope.

Wait, I thought it was a great election for the Republican Party. The leader of the party said so.

Wow. This is interesting. Trump has destroyed the GOP for the next generation. They will win in regional areas, but they are in trouble.

馃幓馃槩

Pity. Someone should have warned the GOP. Oh, wait.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Maybe trying to take away healthcare wasn鈥檛 a good idea?

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Gen X will bring the GOP to their knees.

The dumbing-down of America is nearly complete.. anybody who votes for these fucktard Democrats who are trying to turn the United States into Venezuela are either complicit in the crime or ignorant as fuck..

Well when you鈥檙e the party of Old WhitePeople, you tend to turn off a much younger generation. Keep trying to shore up wins with that smaller base you鈥檝e got.

Koch candidates did poorly, are you sad?

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Based on this exit poll it would seem the Dems would have won the house 435-0

In reply to @FrankLuntz
You should be proud. All the lies you have crafted, all the marginal peoples you have scapegoated have finally retaliated and the party you helped create is in decline! The culture war was lost in the 60s and it's take this long for you all to see it. LET IT GO! pic.twitter.com/p2N2hryyVO

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Plus how鈥檚 the caravan coming? FAKENEWS

In reply to @FrankLuntz
If GOP overlooks this younger demographic the party will move toward extinction.

Who are those 32% & 39% of young voters who believe @gop is incapable of electing a leader that isn't 1. immature 2. ignorant 3. low class 4. obnoxious 5. corrupt 6. dishonest 7. cowardly 8. racist 9. emotionally challenged & 10. dangerous like @potus @realDonaldTrump? #FBRParty

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Repubs need a rebuild that is more inclusive, appealing to concerns of younger voters while maintaining the values of our 鈥渃onstitutional republic鈥. Not difficult just takes leadership, vision, integrity and hard work.

Wonder what happened.

鈥淗istorically and Catastrophically Low鈥

We are coming bitch鈥. @realDonaldTrump

In reply to @FrankLuntz
It isn't doing anything to convince me. It looks like a party that is making up absurd conspiracy theories to stoke hatred, building a platform around limiting the rights of others, and is doing anything - anything at any cost - to take power. Are greed and power core values?

In reply to @FrankLuntz
They have no idea about how a country survives. They will have to live with the consequences. Education is failing at every level.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Wouldn鈥檛 be surprised if #鈥檚 shift back once trump is gone. The more he speaks, tweets, holds crazed hate rallies, the more he loses voters across all age groups. He is uniting the country鈥攊n disgust & distrust of GOP cowards who enable him.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
And that's a beautiful thing Frank.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
The GOP is a dying party and this is from an Independent who has voted for candidates of both major parties.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
But also, they've lost most of a generation. Republicans are relying heavily on aging Boomers. They'll have to change to survive at some point. I know your network has worked really hard to deceive my parents' generation, but it won't work the same way on us, Frank.

Older Republican voters bail on GOP.

Trump's older, whiter base won't like hearing this, but the rest of the country just isn't in to you & your boy.

Republicans in the future will look at Trump's time now as them eating the seed corn of the future to have their last meal today.

Bring on the @DanCrenshawTX's.

The sky is falling, says Frank Luntz.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
He has disenfranchised just about everybody except for white and male aged 20 to 80.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
There will be 3 million fewer Baby Boomers by the time Election Day 2020 arrives

In reply to @FrankLuntz
People don鈥檛 like to be lied to. That鈥檚 why

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Interesting! I鈥檝e moved from Independent to Democrat over the last 2 elections in the 65+ category. White, college, retired. I fail to understand how the 65+ group can vote 50-48 with what the R鈥檚 are doing and saying!

In reply to @tombedell
@tombedell @awiley90 Lets send that caravan of old white men out of the country and make it 鈥淣o country for Old men鈥

White people who haven鈥檛 graduated from college are the GOP demographic. (Meanwhile, go young people!)

Because these people are the ones that swing every midterm.

They did the same thing in 2006.

How does Frank Luntz get paid?

In reply to @FrankLuntz
馃毃馃敟 Consistent cross tabs leading into midterms spelling existential doom is worldview of aging white @gop #patriarchy: +/-75% consistently shared more women in power & government would NOT be a good thing! Worse: Adam鈥檚 rib knuckle-dragging goes apocalyptic beyond caucasians 馃嚭馃嚫

The GOP adoption of Trumpism is proving to be a temporary, Pyrrhic victory.

Wow. GOP disaster. If 2020 turnout is higher than 2018鈥揳nd it will be-it鈥檚 hard to see this not getting worse for them.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
The GOP is getting older, whiter, more male, more Christian, more extreme, less rational, and less compassionate. #nvfr

In reply to @FrankLuntz
If you look at the percentages -- and given the closeness of the midterm elections -- the GOP has far more upside in terms of capturing the 70-90% of non-white Democrat votes going forward. Tough for the Dems to improve on 90%.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
That's because as we get older we get tired of the Republican bullshit and failed promises.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
It doesn鈥檛 matter as long as #Gerrymandering is still allowed!

In reply to @FrankLuntz
That poll only reflects people that would talk to the pollsters. It probably uses "white" improperly. It also shows how many people are still in their parent's houses, never having seen their paychecks after taxes have been removed.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
It would be interesting if you can find any data on number of people who switch partys as they age or income

In reply to @FrankLuntz
The only demographic is uneducated white males... go figure.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Well, how about that. Some of them be gettin鈥 their groove back.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
younger want FREEBIES..that's why vote Democrat

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Add to that the well known reproductive limitations and age span of these old white men, and you get young people who have to wait and stay hungry, while #Trump #KochBrothers #Mercers #Sacklers congenital #Oligarchs hold on to power. Throw in #WhiteSupremacy + #authoritarianism

In reply to @FrankLuntz
They will be in decline for a very long while.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Gee, I wonder if going after seniors' Social Security and Medicare might have something to do with that...

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Not surprising. It's been almost 30 years since the last successful GOP president left office. Since then, it's been: 4 years of the first disastrous Bush, 8 years of Clinton, 8 years of the second disastrous Bush, 8 years of Obama, and now 2 years of THIS.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
But you've got 30 neo-Nazis hitting 18 by 2020 in Baraboo, so it's not all bad

In reply to @FrankLuntz
I鈥檓 57 and I鈥檝e never voted GOP. Always Democrats.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Because we left the party when @realDonaldTrump was elected 馃槒 We won鈥檛 be back either.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Despite howling from the anti-intellectuals, it may be our younger voters prefer to rely on science, tolerance, democratic values, transparent governing, voting rights, and rational policy choices rather than fear, racism, bullying, and tribal acceptance of tyrant wannabe's.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Frank, please redirect skills you deployed for selling lies such as climate denial and to promote anti-democratic big $ to push for the democratic process and belief in basic science! Might have policy effects you don't like but, on the whole, it'd further the American project!

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Thank you, young people. The future is yours. Treat it well.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
Pretty scary statistics. It鈥檚 hard to stand up as a Republican when you get attacked by people openly. My Facebook feed is full of left wing opinions and hardly zero conservative opinions even though I have many republican friends...simply because of the attacks that will come.

In reply to @FrankLuntz
That has to be garbage. A 1% difference between 45-60 & a 2% difference 65+ cannot account for what we just watched I agree that this looks ugly, but: Pew is not unbiased in the Demographics that they employ #WakeUpAmerica 馃嚭馃嚫鉂わ笍馃嚭馃嚫

#Millennials who are now in their 30s along with the next Generation coming up behind us are sticking with Democrats by a significantly higher % compared to historical norms. Republicans are going to face a demographic time bomb.

@FrankLuntz what is normal FLA voter distribution..?
Gov. 8,218,616
Att.Gen 8,192,095
CFO 7,842,585
AG Comm 8,055,348
Senate 8,174,455
Who votes for one office & not another? What鈥檚 the explanation for AG count level? Shouldn鈥檛 they all be the same total voters..? @charliekirk11
