This is how I want to think about Brody Stevens. Having fun and making the best of impossible situations. Which he did ALL THE TIME.

Brody was always the funniest guy in the room- he always closed CDR, because no one else could possibly follow him. #RIP

2. Industry crowds are notoriously bad anyway. They watch comedy all day and they’re numb to it. Also these people were here by force and it was a week night. Six amazing comics who you have heard of bombed hard one after the other...

I’m so sad to learn that @BrodyismeFriend has died. An incredibly kind person and an exquisite comedian.

I once saw Brody Stevens do 20 minutes hand drumming on an overturned trash can and yelling his college baseball highlights. He then listed famous baseball players he'd met. Probably the most I've ever laughed at a standup set. Hard to imagine I won't get to see his magic again.

Thank you for sharing this story. Brody Stevens doing what he did so well. RIP.

This story is EVERY Brody Stevens set I was lucky enough to witness.

Goddamnit! Brody Stevens was one of a kind. I’ll never forget the first time I saw him. He completely blew my mind. There were “bigger” comics on stage that night, but he was the one I left talking about and telling my friends about. Such a huge loss.

This thread encapsulates @BrodyismeFriend & his genius so well...all of us who got to witness this on a nightly basis are spoiled beyond belief. The fact that we never will again is heartbreaking.

The hardest I’ve ever laughed at a standup show (maybe ever) was during a Brody set. This thread is a perfect example of why. #PostiveEnergy! #Connection! Thank you Brody.

This is a great thread about a genuinely lovely and funny man.

Damn, huge loss... Thoughts going out to the friends and family of by far one of my all time favorite performers to watch do the art...

Rest easy Steven Broady Stevens.

This story is the BEST example of what kind of person Brody Stevens was. Everyone should read this. He had such a great heart. Damn...

what a great story, thanks for sharing @JohnRoycomic. Brody was never anything but weird and kind around me, ever. He was always a strange delight. That’s rare in any profession in this world. ❤️

R.I.P Brody Stevens
Great comics,I believe, are at their best in a bad situation. Brody was phenomenal in a bad situation. I can’t imagine I will ever forget him and every time I think of him I will smile

In reply to @JohnRoycomic
This made me laugh out loud and cry at the same time. This sucks, but thank you for sharing.

The last time I went out and saw stand-up live, Brody was on the bill. He's been a constant in LA as long as I can remember in live comedy. This is terribly, terribly sad, but I love the stories other comics are telling about him.

Reading this story about Brody Stevens (someone I had never met) makes me want to tear up. Thank you for sharing

The more I think about it, the more sad I get that this guy is gone and most comedy fans don’t know the half of how dope he was.

This thread is a gift today. Thank you, John Roy.

In reply to @JohnRoycomic
Absolutely! So many awkward shows I attended were suddenly brightened by this guy and his drum. He called into question why anyone was there all the time.

This is a quintessential Brody story. There are so many.

In reply to @JohnRoycomic
This was the most beautiful and amazing story. Thank you so much for sharing. He will be missed so much❤️

The last show we did together was in the dark in an abandoned parking lot and Brody ended his set by driving his car off stage. The toughest act to follow. #PositiveEnergy

In reply to @JohnRoycomic
This makes me sad that I never got to see him.

Great @BrodyismeFriend story. A shout out of rest in peace, from “BURBANK, 818!” (Brody voice.) Help and medicine are crucial, be sure to get them, people.

Every story is gonna be like this x 1000. Read this. This is a rare time to read all the tweets.

He was a juggernaut on stage and so kind. RIP Brody Stevens.

As someone who loves standup, I love this story. I didn't know his work, but what a great introduction and tribute.

[P] This is a wonderful story. I didn't know Brody Stevens, but heard many tales and knew how many people loved him. Sad to hear he's gone.

Everyone is valuable; please don't be afraid to talk to someone if you're facing depression. You are not alone. We need you here.

I never spoke with Brody Stevens other than circling up and sharing a joint with a bunch of other comics at the Comedy Store but ALL I have EVER heard about him were stories like this and stories of how kind he was. I’m heartbroken for those who knew him #RIPBrodyStevens 💕

In reply to @JohnRoycomic
This is so great. RIP to one of the greatest to ever do it.

We all have a @BrodyismeFriend story. He was the first comic I ever saw in LA (on a show with @aparnapkin!) at a time when I didn't even know what the 818 area code was. His aggressive positivity was bizarre and infectious and unreplicable. #RIPBrodyStevens #818forlife

I didn't know this comic or his work but this is a fabulous story that explains what being a stand-up is all about.

Great story about a great guy that we lost way too soon. Brody was one of the good guys. All love.

Thank you for nailing the essence of Brody & making me smile through the tears. Had the good fortune of meeting him + seeing him do the Kinison spot at the Store + warm up the crowd for @midnight #RIPBrodyStevens Guess I'm in the market for a new favourite comic. pic.twitter.com/XxR3IW5axI

Somehow this tweet thread really nailed Brody Stevens’ cadence.

In reply to @JohnRoycomic
I guess the moral to this story is tell people around you they are great & appreciated. It seems he was invaluable, yet he didn’t feel valued (through his depressed lens). Very sad.

In reply to @JohnRoycomic
