Notre Dame is one of the world’s great treasures, and we’re thinking of the people of France in your time of grief. It’s in our nature to mourn when we see history lost – but it’s also in our nature to rebuild for tomorrow, as strong as we can.

The majesty of Notre Dame—the history, artistry, and spirituality—took our breath away, lifting us to a higher understanding of who we are and who we can be. Being here in Paris tonight, my heart aches with the people of France. Yet I know that Notre Dame will soon awe us again.
This is how you lead💔🐮

I miss having a president who could grieve without making it about himself.
This is a REAL President.

One who doesn’t say “they should throw some water on it.”
In reply to @BarackObama
You came to visit the cathedral that time and the Notre Dame choir sang for you and your family during your visit. I was part of that choir and I still cherish that moment. Tonight more than ever. Thank you.
You armed, trained and financed the jihadist terrorists who plundered the historic treasures of Libya, Syria and Iraq, and nearly destroyed World Heritage Sites that are thousands of years old like Maaloula and Palmyra.

Your “mourning” couldn’t be anymore hollow.
Notice how @BarackObama neglects to critiques their firefighting abilities.

Oh he did and to top it off, he did it with so much more grace and compassion than Trump twitter.com/BarackObama/st…

Thank you. It is heartwarming to hear comforting words from an admired leader. In times of great sorrow people have a need for someone to bring us together in shared grief. It's sometimes called being presidential. There's been a real lack of that lately. Miss you!
In reply to @BarackObama
You, Sir, are truly being missed.
In reply to @BarackObama
Finally. A truly presidential Tweet. Thank you 🙏
In reply to @BarackObama
THIS is how you react to this situation. NOT suggest they throw buckets of water on the building.
In reply to @BarackObama
That is how a president, a decent man, responds.
In reply to @BarackObama
I miss this man in the White House...

Man who dropped 26,000+ bombs in a single year, hoped and changed 2 wars into 7, armed jihadists in Syria who systematically targeted Christians...

mourns loss of one iconic church
In reply to @BarackObama
President Obama always said the right things, gave such beautiful comfort in time of need
In reply to @BarackObama
Come back. They need you.
I miss having a human president.
In reply to @BarackObama
Thank you, Mr. President.
Hey @realDonaldTrump

Take a lesson from a real president.

This is how you should respond when another country is facing tragedy.

Quit embarrassing us.
I will always treasure the precious memory being present when this photo of @BarackObama and his family was taken inside of Notre Dame.
In reply to @BarackObama
This is how a President behaves. ❤️
In reply to @BarackObama
Well said sir. True leadership.
This is how a president shares love to the world. Barack Obama is a man of class.
Always good to be reminded of how a real president responds to crisis
It's nice to know that we still have a President who knows how to react to terrible tragedies like the burning of Notre Dame.
This is what a real president sounds like.
In reply to @BarackObama
Now THATS a presidential response
This is the kind of response we should expect from a PRESIDENT
In reply to @BarackObama
A real President doesn’t tell you how they would fight the fire. #NorteDameFire
A beautiful demonstration of how much the Virgin Mary is honored, not just by Catholics, but by Muslims as well. Respect. 🙏
It's only been two years but this kind of basic human decency already sounds like a faint echo.
Ok Barry... bomb the shit out of Africa and the Middle East but shed tears over a European building.

Is this your king?!
In reply to @BarackObama
Oh look. A real president tweets words of sympathy and hope, not bad firefighting advice.
In reply to @BarackObama
Thank you for filling the massive hole in our hearts & our massive leadership void with your thoughtful words.
In reply to @BarackObama
A true President 💙
Thank you Mr. President. It’s been a long time since I’ve said that.
In reply to @BarackObama
Merci président 😢🇫🇷
A real president speaks.
In reply to @BarackObama
I miss you so much. And Michelle.
WTH?! Rebuild what? The centuries of hands that touched every surface, carved every statue, painted every portrait, wove every tapestry? Anything to replace what was there will be a bastardization of political correctness. But that was the intent, wasn’t it?
This is how a real President of the great United States speaks. This is what the United States stand for in the world.
That Trump can’t even manage something this basic - thoughtful, respectful, normal - tells you a lot. *sigh*
In reply to @BarackObama
You're missing a suggestion on how to fight the fire...
In reply to @BarackObama
Thank you for responding as a true leader and President.
You’re missed dearly Mr. President. 🇺🇸
Le tweet que Trump aurait dû écrire. #notredame
Not as beautiful as "Use flying water tankers! Act now!," but then again, it's hard to top the poetry of that.
In reply to @Le_Figaro
In reply to @BarackObama
I mean there's just no comparison. You're a class act sir and we miss you dearly! pic.twitter.com/JPX2yeBu0m
This is how a leader should respond.
Kijk Theo, zo kan het ook.
This is about the French so here's a picture of meeeeeee.

No seas envidiosa Laura algún día irás.
In reply to @BarackObama
Trump. This is how it’s done.
We’re all so sad mister President.
Every now and then, a tweet from Obama reminds us what presidential tweets used to sound like. Compare to "waterbomb it from the air."
He's still our Consoler-in-Chief...
You know, it's a church. It's not just a historical treasure. It's a place where Catholics worship. And likewise, Hyper Cacher isn't adeli. It is a kosher supermarket where Jewish people shop...
In reply to @BarackObama
Pray for us all.. and help us to re-build afterwards
Reaction. Reconstruire.
His words are always just right! 🙏🏽
In reply to @BarackObama
French here. Dude, come back...
In reply to @BarackObama
Thank you for speaking so kindly on our behalf. ☮🇫🇷
This is a broad contrast from the back-seat firefighter in the #WhiteHouse. The guy who knows everything, who sued to hide his grades

At least we can go back to the last #President for comfort in this troubling hour

Thank you @BarackObama, thank you for your civility and wisdom
This is what a real President says during a tragedy like this.
In reply to @BarackObama
Thank you from France 😢
In reply to @BarackObama
That is a proper tweet to something like this. Not suggest flying water tankers over the monument!
I very much needed a way to process the #NotreDame fire today. Your words provided me solace.

Thank you, Mr. President.
Of course this narcissistic POS tweets a pic of himself.
In reply to @realDonaldTrump
This is how a real President responds in times of tragedy. Try to learn from him. twitter.com/BarackObama/st…
This is what a real President tweets about #NotreDame 😔 #ThanksObama
When tragedy occurs, look for the helpers. And then look for President Obama's loving and thoughtful words.
A true leader reacts to the heartbreaking tragedy in Paris.

Forgot what it was like to have a president who responds to tragedies like this instead of, “just spitballing here but maybe France should try flying water tankers”
« Notre Dame est l'un des plus grands trésors du monde, nous pensons au peuple de France en cette période de deuil. Il est dans notre nature de pleurer lorsque nous voyons l'histoire perdue - il est également dans notre nature de reconstruire pour aussi fort que possible. »
1/2 Incidentally, this is how a real President tweets. #NotreDame
as strong as 'we can' で締める所とか、オバマのツイートは本当にたったの140文字でも大統領演説のごとく決まるんだよな…twitter.com/BarackObama/st…
