Just in case any of my constituents are in any doubt: I am not prepared to support this revised Brexit deal unless it is subject to a confirmatory referendum with the option of staying in the EU on the ballot paper. The people must have the final say.

Excellent. Please persuade *all* your colleagues to turn it down too. Not just abstain, vote it down. Thank you.

Good stuff, Matthew

Beware the possible trap. 1. Johnson offers 2nd ref to get deal through. 2. Avoids Benn Act = no extension. 3. Cannot implement due to s55 of 2018 Trade Act 4. Uses this as ruse to crash out on no deal (Not his fault he will claim). 5. Since we have left on 31.10 no 2nd Ref!

In reply to @mtpennycook
Good . It鈥檚 dire. May Govt ( incl BJ ) DUP already rejected when offered by EU . Vote it down. No matter JRM comments , no deal ruled out under #BennAct & PM must seek ext. No ext , no GE no PV , #RevokeArticle50 only remains. PM will seek extension. EU will approve it.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Putting up this shit deal as one of the options in a binary ref will be an act of immense irresponsibility. This may yet win the ref, and we the people will be stuck with this dystopia and the horrible Tory govt. just vote it down!!!

In reply to @mtpennycook
I wouldn't trust the people to decide which film to watch. Just #RevokeArticle50 please.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Well said and I hope ALL MPs go for this..the deal,is dreadful, much worse than May鈥檚 effort.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Thank you! Just hope you have enough like-minded colleagues.

In reply to @mtpennycook
We want and need a GE Its party policy ... voted on at conference you were elected on a Leave respecting manifesto over 60% of Labour constituencies voted leave stick to policy

In reply to @mtpennycook
Just vote NO. Don鈥檛 be misled by that charlatan, Johnson. If he gets the green light in Parliament he鈥檒l wriggle out of a referendum. Please. Just vote it down.

In reply to @mtpennycook
So you believe this deal is good enough to risk it being confirmed in a 2nd referendum. That is reckless and if leave win again you will have left us with whatever Trump deems acceptable. You should vote down the deal, seek an extension, VONC, GE, negotiate a safe exit, 2nd ref.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Thank you. No MP should sign up for this travesty, over 3 years after an advisory vote, unless the people are happy to do so with a super majority I remember how other nations once admired our calm common sense, now we are just a laughing stock as we dance to an extremist tune. pic.twitter.com/lLaWHZyIJj

In reply to @mtpennycook
Labour's brexit position, mandated by members at conference, is to support a confirmatory ref of a CREDIBLE deal vs remain. Obviously you agree that his deal is not credible, so you must vote down both a PV amendment and his deal. Your real agenda is to undermine JC

In reply to @mtpennycook
Totally illogical, how does another ref change this agreement? Vote it down, have a GE, let Labour negoitiate a better deal, then have a ref. That way we're insured of a soft #Brexit at worst.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Labour Policy is GE 2nd vote.. But you back this deal hoping to get PV attached 馃檮 because you think it's a bad deal people will vote Remain, they won't they'll still vote for deal, Don't be so smug

In reply to @mtpennycook
Anyone wanting a PV with a dreadful deal as an option takes the risk of that dreadful deal winning鈥硷笍 It also leaves NO Deal on the table until Dec 2020! Can you trust Johnson/Cummings/DUP/ERG with that outcome鉂擆煒

In reply to @mtpennycook
Just back Corbyn & Labour policy. #Johnson lies, lies and lies again. He is evil, just look what he did deliberately to that poor family in the Whitehouse this week, and to Mrs Radcliff. Only an idiot would believe anything that man says. Cut him in half and EVIL runs throughhim

In reply to @mtpennycook
Quite right. Brexit is a rich establishment scam that too many ordinary working people have bought

In reply to @mtpennycook
Thank you for confirming. I hope it will be made very clear to any Labour MP supporting this workers鈥 rights & environment destroying Tory brexit that they will have the whip withdrawn & be deselected? If Labour MPs ex MPs put this disaster over the line Labour won鈥檛 be forgiven. pic.twitter.com/LyndDxK4IY

Good to hear. Thank you for looking after your constituents interests @mtpennycook

Great stuff Matthew. We must have a confirmatory referendum. #PeoplesVoteMarch @Devon4Europe @NDevon4Europe

In reply to @mtpennycook
Revoke article 50 please Matthew Brexit is an attack on our democracy

In reply to @mtpennycook
Excellent - I think this is what even @BorisJohnson is secretly hoping for, now that he's done what he "promised". A public vote with the option to remain will save everybody's skin.

In reply to @mtpennycook
It must also be a binding and not advisory referendum. All 4 nations to accept the deal. Simple majority for remain. Are you able to answer these questions which will be controversial.

In reply to @mtpennycook
This is the only way the country can come together. We all know more, if the country choose this deal over Remaining in the EU then so be it; if the country choose now to Remain instead of the deal, no one can say we didn鈥檛 know what we were voting for.Bring the country together.

We agree. Peoples Vote must happen before a deal.

In reply to @mtpennycook
So you are prepared to ignore the biggest vote in our history? The thought of a second vote will create chaos as we have taken over 3 years to get to this point on the first vote. #BrexitDeal

As the Brexit vote was 3 years ago and the outlook for most people is grim, is there any chance of our Swindon MP鈥檚 @JustinTomlinson and @RobertBuckland having any concern for what people think now, or are they going to join an historic mistake?

MPs need time to look at impact assessments. These must be published. This decision cannot be taken in haste, it's too important. #RevokeA50 now and let's think clearly.

In reply to @mtpennycook
With you all the way Matt

Is this fecking numpty joking or what?

We want a Labour Govt not a referendum on BJ's shit deal.

Do your job, represent your constituents and vote it down.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Good. Make sure the headbangers in your party are on same message.

In reply to @mtpennycook
...well done..there's more with you than you can count..

I did not want Brexit but the public voted for it so it should go through.

In reply to @mtpennycook
It seems Labour is of no use whatsoever. They鈥檙e all over the place on Brexit.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Well done. An MP with integrity.

In reply to @mtpennycook
I鈥檓 not one of your constituents, but thank you anyway.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Er ... shouldn't you ASK your constituents, not tell them?! 馃檮馃檮馃檮

In reply to @mtpennycook
Good Luck tomorrow! Sara and I are utterly depressed about our country and the possible/ actual direction of this once sceptered isle!

MPs are being blackmailed to accept it. Business can't wait any longer. EU citizens & UK Citizens in Europe also need to know. All of us have been well & truly stitched up just to keep the CON party in Government.

Pathetic. They already have.

How on earth did I not know about you before today?

In reply to @mtpennycook
Why would you even support it in that event? It's reportedly worse than May's deal and strips workers of their meagre rights. Surely you should be voting it down, removing Johnson and negotiating a Labour deal, because if the people support it, we need the best deal possible.

In reply to @Anna_Soubry
@Anna_Soubry can you confirm you won鈥檛 be supporting this travesty of a deal UNLESS there is a confirmatory public vote.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Thank you for that. This is so important.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Thank you! Listen out for our @march_change on Saturday where an expected ONE MILLION+ people will demand either a say on the deal vs remain or #RevokeArticle50. Join us! This chaos has to Stop! #Just MakeItGoAway #StoptheCoup #FBPE # StopBrexit

In reply to @mtpennycook
Wow. So you voted to trigger Article 50 with absolutely no clear plan for any deal being in place, and against the majority of us in the last referendum, and now apparently we should trust you with another one?

In reply to @mtpennycook
Good for you, sadly pointless asking my MP who will vote for Boris which is why I am getting up at 4am to travel to London tomorrow.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Another Undemocratic MP. Quicker we have a GE the better.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Just vote it down. And then work to revokeA50. The best deal is the one we have now.

In reply to @mtpennycook
The people had their say in 2016 sir and you and your like have scuppered it at every level. I rest my case.

In reply to @mtpennycook
There is no mandate for another divisive referendum

In reply to @mtpennycook
If only there were more decent politicians like you.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Good for you Matthew, and for the clarity of your decision, something sadly lacking in Johnson鈥檚 Deal.

In reply to @mtpennycook
I miss you as my MP. I now have an ERG nightmare...馃檮

In reply to @mtpennycook
Please can you get on the phone to your Labour MP colleagues who are going to vote for this Tory Brexit and ask them to think again. You can start with @sarahchampion who just said she'll switch and support Boris.

Not for the first time this month - we have a top MP here in Greenwich

This! @JSHeappey Just in case you condescend to look at my post - you haven鈥檛 replied to a single comment yet. #PeoplesVote

How about you @AWMurrison do you have a declaration for you constituents on this hotch potch. I'm very interested in your thoughts.

What would really be nice is if my MP @GregHands could start representing his constituents and follow suit.

This man is my MP and he鈥檚 yet another career politician who doesn鈥檛 give a shit about democracy. He wants another referendum with the option to remain and I鈥檓 ashamed to say that I voted for him in the last general election. I will not vote for him if he stands again.

In reply to @mtpennycook
You are making up options. It is deal or no deal. You have no mandate for a second referendum so a GE needs to come first. Another example of reamainers bringing about no deal.

In reply to @mtpennycook
Dear Mr P... as you are so keen for the people to have their say, perhaps you are also now willing to permit me (one of your constituents) to have my say with an approach to the Public Service Ombudsman? Something you currently deny me. My grateful thanks in anticipation 馃憤馃徏馃檹馃徑
