"That's what college football's all about."

Four-time cancer survivor Casey O'Brien just got his first hold for @GopherFootball.

It was perfect, and so was everyone's reaction.

This right here.

PJ Fleck might get eye rolls and whatever else for the rah-rah stuff, but his guys love him and he loves them back.
Right about the 1-minute mark, you see how genuine it is.
No faking that.

Row the damn boat. @GopherFootball
superheroes just living among us
Such a great moment for O'Brien and for this team.
How about this moment?
It’ll make you cry.
Greatest thing today in sports. What courage Casey O’Brien has shown. And I love PJ Fleck’s determination to get him into a game and the team’s emotional reaction afterward.
Win the Day....with resiliency, perseverance, and unbelievable courage. 🙌🏾❤️💪🏽
Jace received the greatest FaceTime of all time as we drove to MPLS this morning... @caseyob14 let him know that he was Captain today & that he was going to get to hold. SO PROUD. So emotional ❤️〽️ Love ya, Casey!

It's a shame that people think Fleck is only about himself and the slogans. Guy truly cares for his players.
One of the best sports stories ever, Considering he’s a four time cancer survivor and has had 14 surgeries

Truly outstanding moment.
OK whoever is cutting onions in the press box I would appreciate it if you stopped.
...and this is what's College Football is really all about.
Absolutely superb stuff. The next time you quit something because it isn't going your way, just remember this dude. Every student athlete should watch this! Thanks for tweeting this @PatMcAfeeShow
The best thing that happened in sports today.
At a loss for words, I can’t stress enough how absolutely incredible this is. Brings literal tears too my eyes. God bless you Casey O’Brien. You give anyone affected by the cancer community hope.
Casey O'Brien was a high school freshman quarterback when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. It was no longer safe for him to get hit, but he kept playing as a holder. PJ Fleck encouraged him to walk on at Minnesota and today he got to hold for the Gophers
What a moment ... well-done, Casey and @GopherFootball ...

When sports are not just sports...
This is why I love sports 👇🏼
This IS what college football is all about.

Who’s crying? I’m not crying 😭

This is awesome as a Buckeye, Win the West. Go Gophers. pic.twitter.com/lletxrt4As
Very cool moment for #B1GKOL player speaker Casey O’Brien of @GopherFootball - he said he would play again & he was right. Congrats to Casey!
What a moment! Thank you @Coach_Fleck for continuing to remind people why we play and coach sports. It's all about developing these young men and women physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually.
Man, this is just awesome. Battling recurrent osteosarcoma. I’ve said it before, but stuff like this is what makes sports so amazing.
It’s hard not to get choked up on this one. I remember Casey running around the sidelines when his dad and I worked at the U together, and have followed his story from halfway across the country. This was a good day!
Great coach!

Give the man the keys to the vault in order to keep him here.
Everyone will come calling after Thanksgiving chomping at the bit to hire him away from the U.
Didn’t know I’d be crying in a Snap Fitness on a Saturday afternoon.
Love Coach Fleck, he represents all the characters of a true leader!

FOUR??? And still suiting up for a football game, incredible.
Good morning I am crying already
Football will NEVER be bad for your kids.

Lessons are learned that can't ever, won't ever, be learned elsewhere.

Row the Boat! J.P. Fleck’s story on Row the Boat and what it means is what makes this special about this young man doing something as simple as holding for a kick and doing it for Fleck’s team. Congratulations to this young man, continue your journey, just keep rowing.
You are a class act @Coach_Fleck!! @GopherFootball 〽️❤️💛❤️
It's dusty in here...that's it!
This is a great moment and story!!1
This is just freaking perfect.
Just got dusty in here.
This hits ya right in the feels. Awesome, awesome moment.

1. Moments like this are why I coach. 2. I love the reaction of his teammates who rush to him when the play is done. 3. Athletics are about MORE than sports.
They’ll tell this story in Minnesota for many years, and rightfully so.
Gets my vote for @MortellAward what do you think @PMortell1 ?
Something different in the making in Minny.
Incredible. So happy for Casey O’Brien.
It's more than just a game...

I'm not crying, you're... 😭😭😭
14 surgeries later he's cancer free and in the game🙏
Love this! Love the raw emotion too, and not afraid to hide it!
You’re an inspiration for many @caseyob14 🎀 #SkiUMah
This is good stuff. Look at his teammates reaction. The reaction of his coach.
It’s about more than football folks!
Your team might not have won - if this doesn’t make you feel better then you don’t live sports let alone college football. Awesome.
I'm not crying, you're crying.
Just an incredible story … and if you missed Casey's speech at the #B1GKOL back in July, make the time to watch it now: youtube.com/watch?v=djCQCu…
And people say sports don't matter. Tell that young man that.

All the feels!! It’s more than a game!!

I hate the Gophers but that kid...I don’t hate them today. Ski-U-Mah. Row the Boat. Whatever. THAT is College football.

Another reason to love college football and the kids that play! Wow
