"He's not swearing at the batsman. He's not abusing the batsman. It's a little overzealous and a little close to Joe Root. Is that worthy of a demerit point and subsequent ban, I don't think so."

Former England opener @Athersmike weighs in on cricket's hot topic 🏏

Very easy to legislate from comfortable air conditioned boardrooms. The greatest bowlers have extra-ordinary passion and the hard work they have to put in to get the best batsmen out is not being respected. This demerit is just crazy. ICC have killed this series #SAvENG

Rabada didn't even make eye contact with Root! The @ICC is such a rubbish organisation. Yet, swearing is considered a "gentlemanly" gesture!

WAIT, I SEE IT NOW! Kagiso brushed against Joe's arm as Joe walked past. Joe must've injured himself due to Kagiso's sheer magnificence. Poor Joe, shame. Kagiso should be ashamed of himself for attacking such a poor, defenceless little man.

In reply to @SuperSportTV
My point exactly. Root should have just walked instead of standing and watching Rabada's passion.

In reply to @SuperSportTV
But nothing happens to Pope for swearing at a player?

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Yes, thank you Mr. Atherton. ICC is killing test cricket!

In reply to @SuperSportTV
I dont appreciate the fact that he is referring to Kagiso as a slow learner. How must KG express his excitement though pic.twitter.com/LXNWX3P5jB

In reply to @SuperSportTV
You just can't have a black person doing that in the face of the white man. You are atleast allowed to play the sport, please show respect to the white master.

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Was the @englandcricket keeper also given demerit points for swearing at @VDP_24

But Buttler dropping F bombs left, right and centre on live TV over a stump microphone directly to another player gets less than a slap on the wrists. @ICC is a fascist disgrace! Rabada, we're behind you!

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Can @OfficialCSA appeal this nonsensical decision by the officials? @AdvDali_Mpofu @tumisole @Lesufi

In reply to @SuperSportTV
It’s time we take our business elsewhere. Constantly being bullied by ICC whenever we play Australia, India and England. Let’s make our domestic scene big again, and grow the sport with other international teams. Bollocks to ICC!

In reply to @SuperSportTV
I went through the comments it's seems we are all fine with Rabada being called a "Slow Learner". The disrespected shown to black people by whites is beyond believe.

What do you guys think of this ruling? #SAvENG

In reply to @SuperSportTV
What the hell is wrong with this pple trying all angles to kill the passion of these boys since when celebration his own success is a problem? Did he say any words? Instead of celebrating What about Anderson, Stokes, Hardik Pandya this is not good 😡😡😡😡😤

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Absolutely ridiculous state of affairs - sadly typical of @ICC fun police

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Are we going to allow ICC to dictate how bowlers should celebrate after taking wickets? Pure rubbish!

In reply to @SuperSportTV
It was wrong of Rabada to celebrate next to Root, he should have at least stood behind the collapsed stumps and call Root a "fucking knobhead". #SAvENG #SScricket pic.twitter.com/baLraM3R9V

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Spot on Remember the sandpaper only Steve Smith was banned for a match @ICC

In reply to @SuperSportTV
What kind of sports is this where you can’t show passion ?

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Is this part of England plan to win the series?

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Fok , why should he call him a slow learner ? @ICC is just full of nonsense , how was he supposed to celebrate such a great delivery ? Fokof maan

In reply to @SuperSportTV
You go KG bowl them to pieces they can use the F word over and over on national TV so please ban them as well from the final test

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Don't even remember the last time @ICC was fair to Rabada 🤷🏻‍♀

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Seems it's ok to use foul language towards the Africans but just don't do a victory dance. It offends the English.

In reply to @SuperSportTV
come lapha side and listen to one of your own.

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Rabada has lost control of himself over the past few months. It just happens to also coincide with the drop in his stats. What happened to the cool and calm assassin? Everytime I see his reaction for a wicket, I just cringe because frankly it's embarrassing.

In reply to @SuperSportTV
being a tad sensitive it seems... Poor things

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Sober analysis of the situation 👌

In reply to @SuperSportTV
What a complete bunch of CRAP!!! This is worse than censorship. AND I don't think Joss Butler deserved punishment, either!! Keep up this overregulation and you will kill the game!! #MANUPICC 🤬🤬

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Maybe the SA team should just do a "slow clap" for wickets taken from now on 🙃

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Cricket is too strict and unfair

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Absolutely ridiculously 🤦🏼‍♂️ Sorry Rabada

In reply to @SuperSportTV
The ICC is controlled by England India and Australia. Need any hints.

In reply to @SuperSportTV
all these stupid rules are killing the game😢😟

Seems a silly rule in cricket (who knew) has led to some drama in the 4th Test between SA and England. 😱🙄🏏 #Root #KG #SAvENG #Cricket #FridayThoughts #FridayFeeling @KagisoRabada25 @englandcricket @OfficialCSA

Are there rules to celebrating a wicket now??????👀

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Think he must rather let his bowling do the talking!! Pick up the pace!!!! Not the bowler he was a few years ago!! Not there for talking and screaming!!! BOWL them to pieces!!

In reply to @SuperSportTV
This racist @ICC is turning out to be a joke, i really see nothing wrong with the celebrations

In reply to @SuperSportTV
This is unbelievably harsh....we cant celebrate anymore

In reply to @SuperSportTV
It is Athers. When he has ignored the warnings from the ICC on multiple occasions then at some stage they gojng to hand out punishment. This is not isolate incident. He has cost his team. Should be given a 3 month stint in the domestic league from his coach too

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Dude shut up!! You have a point but don’t call the man a slow leaner

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Yes ,atherton did not know about rabadas other demerits.he has been warned previously and he pleaded guilty, now lets just get on with the game and trust our batsmen bat us out of the current hole we're in

In reply to @SuperSportTV
really sissyfying the fame of cricket...sad time to be alive

In reply to @SuperSportTV
That's rediculous, @KagisoRabada25 was just celebrating and did nothing wrong. Express yourself son of the soil. #SAvsENG

In reply to @SuperSportTV
if this was his first demerit point and he COULD play in the 4th test, would it be an issue? I suspect not... blame previous 3 behaviours too #SAvENG

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Gutted too but rules are rules

In reply to @SuperSportTV

In reply to @SuperSportTV
It says one thing, with the racist ICC, you can swear at a black cricketer if you are white, however, you cant being a black bowler celebrate a wicket of a white batsman

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Listen here old chap, its just not cricket when a “junior” player disrespects a founder memb no er of the ICC, be it Eng, Aus or India. They (Eng) are world chu(a)mps. KG should have knelt at his feet and begged forgiveness!!!....NOT. CSA get some balls & challenge this decision

In reply to @SuperSportTV
We need to do something about this, they made their point literally now it's time we made ours

In reply to @SuperSportTV
This is just a pure injustice

In reply to @SuperSportTV
is strictly white ooh well we are black and Africans we do things our own way

In reply to @SuperSportTV
#ICC protecting the top three. KG out of Wanderers Test swings match towards English.

In reply to @SuperSportTV
It's flipping ridiculous. So when a team celebrates a great victory in front of losing opponents they all should get demerit points. What a load of.......

In reply to @SuperSportTV
Yes. Thank you. Some more sense. I think the @ICC are just trying to toe the line to the #Woke #snowflake brigade. "But the rules...". The rules are stupid. In a batsman-friendly game bowlers getting up into the face and ears of the batsman is part of the game. #BigBoyPants

In reply to @SuperSportTV
I think we can agree with this mogolo

In reply to @SuperSportTV

ICC rules are sometimes pure trash!!!

Its sport for crying out loud, players should express themselves

This commentator is a fucking ass hole...

Good points here by @Athersmike - do listen and decide for yourself..

I agree with this fully! 😔😔 What's the point of trying to enjoy the game of they trying to suck the passion out of you?

What a bunch of as
@JoshButtler said "Knobheads"
They R really a fckn disgrace and all are wussies
@ICC
U R all a bunch of wussies
Let these ungentlemen who R fcking up this gentleman's game fck off
We do not want them in our country
@OfficialCSA
@englandcricket
@ECB_cricket

“Overzealous” means something different in my world it seems...

They just trying to weigh him down.

🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🙆‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I am disappointed at ICC and empires how they have handled this series

Are we going to ignore the gent continuously say Rabada is a slow learner?

Wow this is something else... The English always take offense over nothing ALWAYS...
Remember the American goal scorer celebration in the semifinals womens world cup if am not mistaken. They said it was an offensive gesture. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Surely no real cricket fan wants to see the best players banned for nonsense like this.
