Tourism businesses, employees and fire-affected communities around the country will receive much needed support from the Government’s National Bushfire Recovery Fund, through our $76m tourism recovery package. This will help protect jobs, small businesses and local economies.

Australian tourism is facing its biggest challenge in living memory, and not just in the bushfire affected areas. One in 13 Australian jobs rely on tourism and hospitality. Read more ➡ aus.pm/3wxp

Hey look.... here’s the real images... try your marketing spin on that... #ScottyfromMarketing pic.twitter.com/2f5x4SY6Li

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Just imagine if you’d spent the $76m in advance ; preparing for the bushfires. How many lives, how many properties, how many tourism business might have been saved? Hint. A lot. If only you’d listened to the warnings...

Is this why you holiday in Hawaii?

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
This is a salesman's response. The product is largely fucked but the advertising budget's limitless.

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Umm...no, no and no. You're a political and intellectual lightweight. Do you not get that nobody is spending money? Run out another slogan. That'll fix it.🙄

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Which would have been necessary if you’d worked with the world to cut emissions decades ago. Now your only selling point is “Come and see the koalas before they’re all dead”. It could have been, “Come and see a country that neither exports or uses any fossil fuels”.

And the gentleman in #rappville living in a chicken coop? What crumbs are you intending to throw his way? #auspol #ScottyfromMarketing is the worst Prime Minister we’ve had to endure and that’s saying something.

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
What a waste of money the advertising is, we know what to do to help our tourism industry we don't need to be told by someone like you who holidayed in Figi and Hawaii last year.

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Hey #ScottyFomMarketing, I found another pic for your collage. It's the one of you supporting Aussie tourism all the way from Hawaii. What exotic foreign location are you planning to visit next? (And will you blame your kids again for running off on your responsibilities?) pic.twitter.com/p6W22E43kE

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Um, how does it help bushfire recovery? Am I missing something?

No money for firefighting equipment and billions lost as a result, good move

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Tourism - we have lost 2 billion. Ok here is 76 million that we will spend with a few of our mates businesses.

Not if Peter Dutton refuses their visitor visa applications. Have a look at massive increase in refusal rates since early 2017. Number refused has increased by around 100,000 per annum.

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Not many can say they’ve destroyed the tourist business twice.

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Would that be the same tourism industry that is reliant upon the Great Barrier Reef? The reef which is getting destroyed by climate change...and your doing diddly squat. How are your coal mates advisors going? Need a sport grant or two?

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
$76m? Remind me, what are the subsidies to mining costing the country again? Does that match the numbers of Australians employed in those industries?

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
1/2 Prevention is better than cure, and if you weren’t entirely beholden to fossil fuel lobby, if you were smart enough to understand science, if you were responsible enough to take your duty of care seriously, if you listened to the experts and took mitigation action, if you

So wasting money on more advertising is more important than people suffering without a home or the animals dying in what’s left of our Eastern forests from starvation? I can see where your priorities lie. Money more important than the people and the environment.

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
This sick coward went on Facebook live, without warning the media, where his trained and paid monkeys posted fan mail constantly as he spewed his vomitous rhetoric and lies. No scrutiny, no accountablity, no idea! What a failed excuse for a leader! #MorrisonFires

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Scott & Simon speak: $76m (w/ an “m”) will “spin” from Government to aid the tourism sector. Tourism Australia projects a loss of $4.5 BILLION (w/ a “B”) over only 1 year in 1 industry. A nation deeply scarred. A domestic & global reputation fouled. -PENNIES & PERSPECTIVE- pic.twitter.com/ouTxFn2IVS

While people live in burnt out cars. Businesses are a pile of burned out rubble and families are traumatised, you decide to fund advertising for those businesses not directly affected with the money for those that were. Strange priorities.

These empty gestures mean NOTHING when this man continues to support and protect the very industry that is destroying these communities.

The fires could have been prevented! This government is criminally negligent!

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
I hate it how you attach this message to beautiful pictures, it’s almost like your IGNORING the reality. It will take more than $76m to being tourists back, they want to see our forests, our wild life, they want places to stay, things to do. Your response PM is appalling!

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
You have spent: $180 mill on a 1 day photo op on Christmas Is (+ more to keep a family there for 6 months) $500mill on War Memorial $250mill on your plane $76mill on tourism... and you want us to be thankful? How much damages could have been mitigated had you listened earlier?

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
First you destroy it now what some advertising $ to Lib donors

Will @senbmckenzie be administering the funding? Lol

THIS IS NOT BUSHFIRE RECOVERY. THIS IS ADVERTISING. Affected areas have such infrastructure destruction, they cannot share precious resources with tourists. Get. A. Grip, SmoKo.😡

Terms and conditions apply* *The #LNP (aka the #fossilfuel industry political wing, Australian division) will also simultaneously undermine the Australian tourist industry by pursuing policies that degrade the environment and will shortly destroy a safe climate #auspol #ecocide

I have to say, I read the first few lines and then my mind goes, BLAH,BLAH, BLAH. Nothing you say makes me want to listen to you. You know, kinda like the way you don't listen to the majority of Australians

What you need to do is #StopAdani from getting $4.4 billion dollars of our taxpayer's money. You need to stop this #CorporateWelfare & redirect that money to those #Australias & #Animals devastated by the fires. #Auspol

Bullshit. All it will do is make your mates richer.

In reply to @ScottMorrisonMP
Wait....is this a parody account? You have done nothing to protect tourism in Australia. All your government’s efforts are directed at destroying tourism. You are actively advocating for #adani with absolutely no thought given to the environmental impact of that mine-shame on you pic.twitter.com/Boua65Y6M2

Too little too late. As usual you’re reacting not pro-acting. The world knows where you went on holidays. The world knows Australia is now a cultural and political backwater. We don’t need ads. Just send a consultant to Thailand/Vietnam to see what travellers want. It’s not hard

$76m is a piss in the ocean, and we all know it.

No one wants to come to Australia. You have destroyed our reputation & we are an international laughing stock known for being a bunch of idiotic climate change denying hicks living on a burnt out continent!

Imagine how much less we'd have to hear from you if you'd done your job before going to Hawaii and listened to the experts, instead of looking after your buddies. We need proactive leadership, not reactions after it's all gone up in flames. You're #NotMyPrimeMinister #Resist

Yes tourists from overseas, we will make you welcome. Come and see our rage and anger at our Prime MInister and his increasingly irrelevant government. Come and observe our grief and pain at the loss of our animals & bush habitats & take pics of the devastation. You're welcome.

Wow that’s almost 5 days worth of franking credit refunds .....imagine if we’d reformed and spent that on preventative measures.
