Massive news out of Guelph. The OUA’s leading point-scorer Mikkel Aagaard has signed a deal in the DEL for the rest of the season with Grizzlys Wolfsburg, effective immediately. Will be flying out tomorrow.

Guelph just won game 2 against Laurier to force game 3 tomorrow.

For those wondering why Aagaard didn’t wait until the end of the season, the European transfer deadline was 6pm EST today. Had to have the deal done by then for it to go through.

Big loss for Guelph who are now without one of the best players in the league for playoffs.

Wow! I’m not gonna deny that it’s a great opportunity for him but I can’t imagine a guy walking out like that during playoffs. Especially the leading scorer... #baffled

Hes paying to be there and has an opportunity to play pro hockey. Dont crucify him.

That is the worst thing I could imagine a teammate doing to his team.

Brutal. Absolute dirtbag move.
Sounds like a real team player
Ooof tough news for the Gryphons
That is a huge loss for Guelph. But excellent for the rest of the OUA. Aaagard has absolutely destroyed the competition this year. Guelph is in a tough spot without him
He was the best player on either team when U Sports played the World Junior hopefuls

Seems like a dick move towards the teammates.

Basically telling your teammates to go fuck themselves
This is massive. A HUGE BLOW to @guelph_gryphons playoff run ambitions.
Why would you do this to your team this late in the season???!!! I don’t care what level of hockey you are.
Great opportunity, but imagine losing your top scorer like that... when you need him the most. Wow.
That’s crappy for Guelph... interesting decision, but his to make.
