This is news. Reminder: Thomas Sankara was known as the Che Guevara of Africa—he was a Marxist revolutionary who liberated Burkina Faso from imperial rule & embarked on a radical program to uplift millions of Africans in his country...until he was murdered by his no.2, this guy..

i am assuming france won’t be held accountable though right?
Will the CIA and the other counterparts implicated also face charges?

The highest level of HYPOCRISY: When Brits wanted to leave the EU🇪🇺 the UK government 🇬🇧 held a #Referendum Now the Biafrans want to leave Nigeria 🇳🇬 & the same UK gov supply weapons & training their footsoldiers to kill biafrans. pic.twitter.com/KqnPIA4cHl
Name and shame the western governments that helped him assassinate Sankara too.
In reply to @BBCAfrica
The western govts he colluded with will make sure he doesn't expose them.
And we’re to believe France had nothing to do with it? That he acted without western backing & support?
Good. Jail the french too while your at it. Sankara is 1 of 22 african leaders the french had a hand in assassinating since the 60s
Today is a good day
May all African leaders who kill those who wanted to build Africa burn in hell.
Legend has it that the late Ghana's president J. Rawlings having sniffed whims of a coupe warned Sankara but he said Blaise was his friend n if he chose to kill him, so be it. On the D day, he told the rest,"Don't panic, I know they've come for me,"
My daughter is named for Sankara. I cant wait to make a pilgrimage to Burkina Faso with her to visit his hometown and grave site. As for Compaoré, his stolen wealth must be recuperated and his influenced neutralized. Im not confidant that the current system will lead to justice.

Did BBC support this coup as well? Of course they did.
This is the best news I have heard today💯💯
This is the best news I have heard this year. REST IN POWER COMRADE SANKARA pic.twitter.com/mcpVuxNHHo

Should be trying French and IMF officials too

When you betray or sell your brother, even your co-conspirators will never trust you. Now, where are the CIA agents that instigated the assassination of this great African Patriot.
Allah be giving us a great blessing on the first day of Ramadan! Alhamdullilah!

Bastard killed the sole principled & visionary leader Africa ever had & robbed us of so many possibilities as a continent. I hate that he lived such a full life already.
Beware of the ides of March. Though they take long, they will certainly come
France bout assassinate Compaoré to keep him from talking about their involvement in Sankara's murder. Au revóir you slimy bastard.
Only a death sentence will suffice. This thug derailed the progress of an entire nation because of his greed and evil
Skeptics have argued that most successful African leaders are often stooges to foreign powers. Historical antecedents and confessions by former CIA agents have often corroborated this assertion. Leaders who refuse to be used by these powers are one way or the other ‘removed’ 1/3
Imagine what Burkina Faso could have achieved if Thomas Sankara had lived! Socialist Revolutions need to be tough because the west will always hire parasites like Blaise to kill progressives and therefore hope.
We hope that one day, @KagutaMuseveni goes for trial for killing Dr. John Garang. Justice will one day prevail.
When will France be going on Trial?
Great News!
Hero Sankara will never be forgotten

While we seek justice, may we try to implement his ideas too. @VibanAK you should be very happy to hear this.

It's never too late to give justice and a nice final send-off even if it is 34 years later to Thomas Sankara , one of the best of us, as Africans and humans.
Compaoré must out the powers that sponsored the atrocity.
And the French/US forces who provided aid and support of the coup? Any trial for them?
In reply to @BBCAfrica
Good way to deal with sellouts.
What goes around comes around... #DeepState @MutahiNgunyi @David_Murathe_ a time will come when the Kenyattas and Mois will pay dearly... Kwa sasa, call us FOOLISH! #UhuruMalizaUende Cc. @OleItumbi
The major crux is will he be extradited to face trial?
If not, everything else is symbolic and not true justice.
The evil that men do, lives after them. Time for justice is at hand.
Justice Must be Served. The Struggle of Thomas Sankara will never go in vain.
Ele não fez isso sozinho!
Os países imperialistas que o apoiaram militar e internacionalmente também serão julgados???
Who would have thought ? #BurkinaFaso must find solace in the fact that Justice wins remember 'the wheels of justice turn slowly but grind exceedingly fine' #Sankara pic.twitter.com/ODjPU65I41
how I’ll sleep the day they execute this man by firing squad pic.twitter.com/9EYiNKoyf9

He is scum
I love it. One day, all the Nigerian military and government personnel who murdered innocent Nigerians at Lekki Tollgate on 20-10-20 will get what’s coming to them. We will not forget. #EndSARS
In reply to @BBCAfrica
Their sins shall surely live with them. Not after them. Good move.🤔
I was so sad when I heard while a teenager that Sankara was murdered by this geezer. So life will catch up with you too one day?
Criminals in South Africa conspired to kill #ChrisHani, they've been running the Country on behalf of the West and the Afrikaner minority for 26years. The population elects them every five years.

This is the African way.

justice for a Son of the soil
Thank God Finally!!
One of the reasons you should consider before making yourself a useful asset for terrible intentions..you’re always dispensable...

Blaise Compaore never thought this day would come...
Even if he's acquitted at least we've got this cool reaction photo
The long arm of law...
This is what I call the real news. Thomas Sankara can't just be forgotten like that. Anyone whose blood of this great man is in his hand must pay "bigly".
#SSOT #JusticeMustPrevail
If providence decides to lavish Buhari with longevity the way it lavished him with non-functional brain cells, he will surely answer for all his misdeeds.
Inshallah this criminal will be brought to justice.
All traitors who sell Africa out must all be taken to trials, people are sick and tired of how terrible leaders they're.
its news like these that makes you appreciate how invincible and smart Rawlings was.
Hang him! Bloody oxygen stealer.
In reply to @BBCAfrica
Finally ,may this be a lesson to other president's who think they above the law
In reply to @BBCAfrica
He must sing like a bird we wanna know who worked with him when he killed Sankara and look him up after that
I hope East African leaders are watching. The chickens come home to roost, eventually.
