Ontario modelling shows that COVID-19 test rates are flat and that the increase in cases is due to more people catching the virus, not more tests being performed. Of the cases, variants strains now dominate, but cases of the original strain are rising too. pic.twitter.com/ih8eLmHe2D

Number of people in hospital and intensive care units have grown by 67% and 51% respectively over the last 2 weeks, and continue to rise rapidly. Modelling shows the demands on the system are already compromising care for all patients; the surgical backlog is almost 250,000.

More @CBCNews: Cases of the illness are rising in most of Ontario's 34 public health units, and province-wide test positivity rate has climbed to 7.9%. That figure is higher than 10% in Toronto, Peel and York regions. Premier Ford to speak at 3:30 pm ET. cbc.ca/1.5990518

67% and 51% of what number? We have 500 hospitals in Ontario.... what number in ICU exactly? Because % is just a fear game.
