Can’t believe he hasn’t been suggested. I am taking it upon myself to add this legend to the selected list.

When my daughter got married in 2017 they had part of the Mawwage scene read by the offciator to much amusement of our friends and family. It is a movie that has not aged and is for all generations.

What a coincidence, this photo just changed my life. #AsYouWish

As good today as it was 34 years ago! I was at a red light next to a parkette and there was a group of young kids playing(8-9 y/o) 2 boys were pretend sword fighting and one said "My name is Inigo Montoya ...you killed my father, prepare to die!" It was awesome!

The Dread Pirate Westley is a very good cat. He loves playing with his kitten brother, Fezzik. pic.twitter.com/XMNdTJ3qFR

There's a shortage of perfect movies... This is 💯 one of them.

One of my favourite movies growing up, and still is today. Incredible cast throughout, and I have never seen another duel scene that compares to the one between @Cary_Elwes and @PatinkinMandy. Also studied the book in my undergrad - it's a worthwhile read. pic.twitter.com/WM90WmDZu8

One of my favorite all time movies. So much so that when I found out my husband could quote the entire movie I knew I found my soul mate. Well that and he found a leather bound copy of the book and gave it to me on our first date 😍🥰

You, and everyone in that movie, have been immortalized. It is a perfect movie in every way.

Remains one of my favorite movies to this very day. Meeting you, at a hotel bar, in New Orleans, in January 2020 (we were both there for Wizard World) remains a highlight too. You were a consummate gentleman Cary. It was such a pleasure meeting you. "As You Wish" indeed. pic.twitter.com/mOvzFxCvn3

34 years later and “As you wish” is still the hottest line a man has spoken in movie history

Wonderful film- you should be so proud to be part of it pic.twitter.com/iyEy1541Qw

I was in high school. A bunch of us were hanging out in a parking lot and decided to go to the movies. The girls wanted to see Princess Bride, and the boy absolutely wouldn’t consider going to see it. So we left them in the parking lot.

Zero regrets.

My dad and sister would quote this one line so much it became their thing. It was one of his favorite movies to sit down and watch we us. pic.twitter.com/FncvWb4xS9

You're saying there's a "t" in "Westley?" It's not "Wesley???" Jesus Christ, now I'm going to need to re-evaluate everything.

Tip for fans: do not miss the audiobook of Elwes’ memoir of making the film. He narrates it, and many of the cast make an appearance in their own voices. It’s the closest thing there could be to watching a sequel, and a damn delight.

Without a doubt my joint favourite film off all time…. Partnered with The Labyrinth! I still watch it regularly and I’m now 40, don’t have kids so I can’t use that as an excuse either, thank you x

My son said he didn't want to watch it with me. He kept coming into the living room and watching here and there until he sat on the couch with me. Now he quotes it. He'll be 13 on Monday.

I met Cary at the airport in Madrid some years ago. When I told him how my children loved that movie, he took three boarding passes and signed them for each of my children with the sentence: as you will. That meant the earth to me and for my kids. You rock. One million thanks.

Happy 34th birthday to my favourite movie, #ThePrincessBride!

I had just started teaching high school English; a freshman recommended I see it. I loved every bit of it. When it came out on video, I began showing it in class and using it to teach literary concepts. I shared it with three generations and my own kids. I quote it daily.

Still one of the best films of all time, and I'm definitely overdue a rewatch 💛

I just finished watching The Princess Bride this morning.

Still my favourite film. Thank you for being our beloved Westley & Dread Pirate Roberts. My standards for “True wuv” are still high to this day, thanks to Wesley & Buttercup sharing the most perfect kiss in the history of kisses. God bless you & your cast. You were all perfect!❤️

I don’t think one day goes by where I don’t quote this movie.

Also 12 year old me was convinced I was going to marry “Westley”. It didn’t happen to say the least but it’s all good. After all the movie taught me “Get used to disappointment” 😁

1) 34 years ago, wow! 2) 34 years ago, eep! Still one of my all time faves.

34 years!!!! 🥰🥰🥰

My favorite film - always & forever! ♥️

If you don’t think my phone is themed to the Princess Bride….

When I was at uni, whenever my housemates or I had a bad day, Princess Bride was our pick-me-up film. And I just used one of the fights in a stage combat exam. Will always love this film 😊

I love this movie more than words can describe. Hopefully that speaks to how great the film is and not my abilities as a writer. ❤

Correction, changed *all* our lives 💛

My favourite film since I was a child. I love it so much. Thank you Cary and everyone involved. As you wish!

In reply to @Cary_Elwes
It may be the only movie I've watched more than five times. You were all amazing. I have your book, "As You Wish", as well as the 25th Anniversary edition of Wm. Goldman's original book. And the DVD, of course. But 34 years ago! Inconceivable!

In reply to @Cary_Elwes
A truly great adaptation by the great Rob Reiner of one of the great American works of fiction by S Morgenstern. Or William Goldman.

Introduced it to our kids last night!
