That's overly simplistic. If we stopped ranking Feed a lot of problems would get worse, not better. Every time we've tested it Feed has shifted significantly towards more public content, where more problems are, and we lose the ability to demote problematic content.

I do worry about polarization, but the data doesn't point at ranking or social media. It's a problem that is much more acute here in the US. It's been on the rise long before the internet. And older populations, who use social media less, are more polarized, not less.
