The president goes out: I was with the press pool, and we waited outside Imperfecto restaurant
for him. My colleague @justinsink says he saw him inside the restaurant through a window, and the president was not wearing a mask. Outside, in front of the cameras, he wore one.

I'm curious. How does someone eat with a mask on?

Love your work. Obviously it’s OK not to wear a mask inside a restaurant. But seeing him wear a mask outside when he saw us seemed unnecessary. I thought: Huh. That’s kinda odd - and interesting too. So I let people know, and people have totally freaked out because of the tweet.

Eating with a mask on is the new popular diet.

You can’t. The honest point is, in exchange for a dining out experience we’re willing to risk going maskless indoors (because that’s what ‘mask on/off’ IS) because that’s the only way to do it. Obfuscation and pretense only trigger cynicism, even in those who take Covid seriously

Why does someone have to go to a public restaurant when someone has the White House kitchen to cook for someone? When Omicron is coming at us like this and we don't even have Delta under control?…
