Few people were as influential in guiding our nation and keeping Americans safe in the wake of 9/11 as Secretary Mineta. Working across the administrations of two Presidents of two different parties, he was a trailblazer for representation in government. We will miss him.
Norman Mineta, who as federal transportation secretary ordered commercial flights grounded after the 9/11 terror attacks, died at the age of 90.

He was the first Asian-American to become a Cabinet secretary, serving under Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. apne.ws/AsxczMM
