There’s a reason why I’ve never watched back an F1 gridwalk in a quarter of a century of doing them. You have no idea how much I dislike doing them but somehow those crazy moments have defined my professional career 🤔. Oh well, that’s the way it is.

I had that Mick Jagger @MickJagger and Jerry Hall on the grid once. Where were you Martin? I wanted to ask them to stop treading on my front wing. I guess you can't always get what you want #f1 #RollingStones

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I think you’re a social media sensation 😉

In reply to @MBrundleF1
You were amazing Martin!!!! Screw those celebrities who think too much of themselves 🤣 No one cares to hear what they say anyway! Your commentary is the best!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
As more and more outside stars visit F1 I think it becomes more and more unfair on you and your producers. I don't expect you guys to know everyone. I wouldn't be too mad if grid walks left.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
😂😂 You’re talking to a bunch of people who saw what the sport really is about. They don’t like sports that are manipulated. Respect is long gone, and when you speak to friends of the person that you guys all continue to bash don’t expect them to give you a second glance.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
If you don’t like doing them, and we don’t like watching you embarrass yourself and annoy others, why bother doing them at all? Just stop.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
You don't need to watch them back pal, they are MINT

This shows once again that F1 has a long way to go. You lot want to attract new fans. You want to enjoy celebs' exposure without knowing how to interact with them properly. "This is your house" innit? Maybe it's time to learn some manners in that house

In reply to @MBrundleF1
But its one of the many things we love about you Martin, and it also helps us find out which celebrities are F1 Fans and which ones are there just because of sponsors.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Just got done having a laugh at this montage of the best moments. You’re a legend mate 🤣 youtu.be/RSRUvhK-nx8

In reply to @MBrundleF1
They are great content! And you’re jokes along the way make them great! My favorite part of the pre race coverage.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
There's a reason why most F1 fans never watch back the last 2 races from 2021 - You have no idea how much we dislike the rule breaking, hypocrisy and corrupt nature of those 2 races! Why didn't you call it out? #f1xed #wwf1 pic.twitter.com/abkl8X8gZL

In reply to @MBrundleF1
The Miami grid walk was rubbish. Not your fault at all MB. F1 rights holders need to wake up and realise it’s about the teams and the drivers, not the celebs, not Pharell and his Bro Richard Mille not David Beckham. Where were the drivers? Probably hiding from the scrum on grid.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Your legacy will be way, way bigger than just the grid walks Martin! We love them because they bring out your personality in a way we don’t see when you’re doing commentary :)

In reply to @MBrundleF1
As someone who's watched F1 for 40+ years, I'd be happier if you ignored all of the crowds of people and concentrated on the drivers and cars. Maybe the other presenters could talk to some of the visiting celebs?

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I like when it’s about the cars and the drivers and getting maybe a comment from an engineer or a Team Boss. But those celebrities don’t need to be there.. some don’t even know whats going on. It looked like chaos on the grid today.. there needs to be limits.. too many people..

In reply to @MBrundleF1
When you have caught a driver / ex-driver / engineer / team manager / official etc then it’s very much appreciated by all of us longtime, true F1 fans 👏🏼 But when you’ve had to talk to lots of Bus Jumping “Celebs”💩 / Social Media “Influencers” WTF? then that’s understandable 👍🏼

You do a FANTASTIC job @MBrundleF1! I’d love people to appreciate how difficult that grid walk with all its unpredictability can be. Would it hurt some celebs to stop for a couple of mins for a chat? Keep powering mate & thank you for the access you give us. #F1

In reply to @MBrundleF1
We love you and we understand you ❤️

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I understand. Celebrities feel entitled to act rude.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Maybe if @SkySportsF1 gets someone relevant and who isn’t disrespectful to celebs who come to races then you wouldn’t have to do them anymore.

I have an honest Q: do journalists prepare for the celebrities who are going to attend the grid walk? Because I can't comprehend what was that attitude. As journalists, shouldn't they do their homework, know celebs by their names & say something that might get them engaged?

Wow, why are people defending Brundle so hard. He didn’t do a good job. He knew he was doing the grid walk so he should have done research and prepared himself. It wouldn’t have been so awkward if he did and he would have got more respect back. Gotta give respect to get it. #F1

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Thought it was brilliant!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Loved the “Modest” comment, when you asked the ‘social media sensation’ bloke who he was.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
You’re a legend. Keep your head up

In reply to @MBrundleF1
This is the sort of celeb that should be invited onto the grid, Rowan Atkinson is a long time fan of motorsport youtu.be/yANTepTmm3c

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I thought as a former F1 racer would define your professional career Martin? Was it so so long ago like your colleagues? 😆. Johnny Herbert will always be remembered as a former F1 driver because he talks F1. He does not talk gossip about some drivers presently on the grid.

“You have no idea how much I dislike doing them”

Who is still forcing Martin Brundle to do gridwalks if he hates it that much

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I feel ashamed that people like David Beckham can snub off the biggest F1 broadcast. Can we introduce a grid walk guest of the event and publicly vote on which Celebs should be banned from future grid walks and replace with real fans from the crowds.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
No, you’re known for being a racing driver and an incredibly knowledgeable person in F1. Yes, today was a shambles, but it was made a shambles by a lot of rude celebs there for the limelight and “atmosphere”

Think your team needs to do some research. There's no way you just walk upto people and ask them. Like your gird walks need some order if you're doing big races where a famous crowd is expected. And that order is you knowing the people you're attempting to interview

Wait, Brundle hates doing them? Let's ditch them then! Yesterday's was more of a car crash than Norris and Gasly.
#F1 #MiamiGP

State of the replies to this. Fancy giving Brundle careers advice like some are here?

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I think your lack of knowledge of the pseudo celebrities who pollute the grid is exactly the right tone.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Martin, you are brilliant. I have no idea how you identify so many people no one else can. We love from America :)

In reply to @MBrundleF1
American here, new to the sport (in my 3rd or 4th year watching). Love the grid walk. Didn’t take long to realize you’re a legend, Martin. Thank you for doing what you do.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Sometimes the grid walk is the best part of race day

Nothing wrong with your track walks, they’re iconic. The problem is these so called ‘celebrities’ who show up in the States to grab photos for their social media. They have zero interest or respect for the sport…

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Give tickets to people who actually like F1, not like David Beckham who runs from a question or Serena Williams whose ego and head is too big!! Let real fans get tickets!!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
It's seems to me all those Celebs on drugs TBH.. What a madness.. Martin bundle doing huge effort to make them looks civilized.. #f1 #MiamiGP #SkyF1

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Martin watched f1 for years, time to ditch free loading celebrities on your gridwalk and speak to drivers and team personnel as a fan its more informative

“You have no idea how much I dislike doing them” Martin, maybe it’s time to pass the torch.

In reply to @MBrundleF1

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I love the grid walks - it's an insight into the kind of 'nobody' hangers-on that swarm like plastic parasites all over a sport they know nothing about. They make themselves look terrible in 3 seconds of attitude with Martin. Keep doing them @MBrundleF1 , we love you!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Well done for coping with the total craziness as well as you did, Martin. Really enjoyed your track drive with Seb this weekend!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Not your fault 80% of the “fans” on the grid have no idea why they are there or what F1 even js

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Honestly, I prefer the team directors and drivers to the unrelated celebrities but the bit with Mario today was gold.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
They're the best! Enjoy the randomness of it all

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Martin, I think you done a good job under bad circumstances and you brought humour to it, so well done for that but this is the reason so many are turned off from F1 now. We don’t want “celebrities” we want engineers, drivers, team bosses. Honestly I am almost done with F1 now

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I’ve been watching F1 and MotoGP for some 30+yrs and I have never laughed so much 🤣🤣🤣🤣 you are the best and some of us look forward to your gridwalk as a highlight of the race #KeepUpTheGoodWork 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 #MiamiGP #F1

In reply to @MBrundleF1
For what it’s worth, I love ‘em and think you’re great at it! 😃

In reply to @MBrundleF1
It was hilarious and you were great!

I haven't heard Martin be this blunt since he was asked whether Ricardo Rosset deserved to be on the #F1 grid🤣

Oh but why does he do them if he hates it though? That's a shame.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Was more fun when it was mainly drivers, Gerhard Berger antics and not packed. But it's fun as car crash TV.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
You are a true legend amongst the best! Many fans of the sport today started gaining interest in F1 after listening to you calling the race.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Give them up. They're well past their sell by date. I just fast forward them now. The same questions and non answers every GP.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
They are the best !! You make them the great with your quick wit and humor. Don't ever quit.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I’m sorry you dislike them, I never realized. I really enjoy them, you’re getting everyone else access, and I don’t recognize many of the people (from outside f1) that you speak with, but I enjoy the interviews all the same.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I like them cuz they’re crazy

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Some of them actually aren't bad. But the US ones seem to always be particularly cringe-worthy... Overall though I do like them - long may they continue!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I hear what your saying dude. The #F1 #MiamiGP was knee deep in cringe worthy media whores from the grid walk to the paddock to the garages. 🤮 But your @PatrickMahomes moment will go down as the funniest gridwalk incident since @KimiRaikonnen told you he just had a sh**t!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I think people should be coming to visit you

In reply to @MBrundleF1
I love it and wouldn’t be the same without the grid walk. As long as you know the sport you are paid to commentate on, which you quite clearly do, who cares if you don’t know one of the many nob heads, desperate to be seen and heard. Keep it up Martin.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
its alright martin. We love it! And remember, You can because you did.

but sir, that gridwalk was the best moment of the weekend!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
more entertaining then the actual race, TY Martin

In reply to @MBrundleF1
You're a legend. Never stop doing them

In reply to @MBrundleF1
The memes are great but I honestly wouldn’t mind if you stopped them. Far more interested in your incite than some inane comments from whichever celebrity wants to remain relevant that week.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Always such a great part of the grand prix tho mate and we all respect you for continuing to do them even tho sometimes they're tough. Keep doing you pal😎

In reply to @MBrundleF1
From the states .. you do you Martin. Huge F1 fan .. these so called “celebrity’s “ are very small on that stage its your world not theirs , love everything about the grid walk .. 🤴

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Martin, you’re a 🤴.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
People forget its about the cars, drivers and racing NOT these damned celebs trying to get airtime. I appreciate your awesome insights and nuances in the final minutes before a race.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
It was the best part of the race. Brilliant. Don’t change!

In reply to @MBrundleF1
They’re absolutely brilliant Martin. You had half a billion ‘celebs’ to contend with. They’re the visitors, not you

In reply to @MBrundleF1
It was SO good!!! Truly funny...brings the chaos to life Embrace it!

Always a highlight of any GP weekend for me, MB! You might not enjoy them, but the rest of us sure do! Keep up the good work!

The reason that everyone loves them is that @MBrundleF1 just seems to like take it as comes during them and laughs about it. For the most part they are fun.

In reply to @MBrundleF1
Martin, please never change, love listening to your commentary either during the race or on the grid. Besides, because of you @MarioAndretti gets a @McLarenF1 drive in Austin! @ZBrownCEO
