Yes, the criminal law amendment ordinance seeks to amend IPC, Evidence Act, CrPC and POCSO to dole out harsher punishments. Yes, the Juvenile Justice Act 2015 has been passed in which juveniles in the age group of 16–18 years, involved in heinous offences, can be tried as adults.

Is this enough? No! Let’s remember that nothing less than absolute fear of the system, the punishment, the crime, is the only deterrent for rape. Lenient and muddled laws will not achieve this. Till then, our lawmakers would rather incinerate a girl than a boy. This is our India.
