Earl’s Court has an apostrophe; Barons Court to doesn’t. (Shepherd’s Bush has, Parsons Green lacks.) There is a dot in St. John’s Wood - US, not UK usage. Northfields is 13 km away from its twin Southfields. This is a short list of things that will change when I am in charge.

Too right. And it gets worse (or, at least, more inconsistent). Earl’s Court tube station has an apostrophe. And 90% of the time keeps that apostrophe on signage. But if you take a walk to Earls Court Road, there isn’t an apostrophe in sight on the signage.
