Keir Starmer warns members to be realistic: “We have to be honest. I’d love to stand here and say Labour will fix everything. But the damage they’ve done - to our finances and public services - means this rescue will be harder than ever”.

Perhaps they'll leave him a note saying 'All the money's gone' eh?

he’s walking back all of his pledges already

Keir Starmer is the last person who should talk about “Honest”

They just want to scare people into resubmission to the EU.

The damage is global…

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Will watch it in full, but this is the point I wanted him to address; the damage done to the UK will not be fixed in a single term & he should make that clear to the people.

tbf it's nice not to be told total bollocks for once

Labour have NEVER left the nation's finances in a better state than when they found them. God help us if they get back in any time soon. First job for taxpayers: purchasing the energy sector. 🤡 They won't have to worry about the 45p tax bracket. Nobody will be left to pay it.

There is yer caveat. “We’ve had a look at the books” 😂

In reply to @PippaCrerar
At least he's upfront with the voters, no lies like you know who

In reply to @PippaCrerar
He wanted a harder, longer lockdown. This is just ridiculous

In reply to @PippaCrerar
This is the hardest, and most important message that needs to be put out there, again and again. To recover from the awful Tory policies of the last 12 years will take time, and steadfastness from all of us..

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Same old Labour … when in power they spend years blaming the other guy 🤷‍♂️

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Most of the damage came from lockdown, which Labour approved of. Dear me the man’s a screaming hypocrite.

Calling for Rupa Huq’s head yet @PippaCrerar ? #justasking

This needs to be understood- fixing the U.K. after the carnage of Brexit-Johnson-Truss will be a huge task.

Did he mention the NHS? No didn’t think so

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Pippa, why don't you remind him of the COVID lock downs and the war in eastern Europe? That have actually caused harm to the economy?

In reply to @PippaCrerar
No doubt the 'difficult decisions' will amount to going after those on benefits, as opposed to tax dodgers. Tory lite Keith, dripping insincerity (and brylcreem)

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Excuses have already begun. I wonder what other pledges will be dropped when the inevitable "Oh no,, finances are worse than we thought.. sorry" line is punted out.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
and honesty ? Durham springs to mind…..

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Crikey excuses already…. Captain hindsight has all the answers

People like those governing currently love destruction they call it disruption, as though they till soil for growth, which never happens. It's easier than creativity. which takes much longer. They love illusions of empowerment. How much of that is fired by spite, who knows?

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Have you forgotten the damage Labour did the last time they were in power

In reply to @PippaCrerar
So in other words he means he won't do jack shit and blame the tories he will do owt to get in power he is a total numb nuts

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Remind me of Starmer's stance on lockdowns again? 🤔

This is defeatist. If he brings the nation on board we can achieve anything. I saw such generosity during COVID. A national effort is required and no messing with people who do not put their shoulder to the wheel or use the situation for personal gain.

Can’t promise the earth with a pile of ashes.

Good, honesty needed.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Sorry, there is no money left, or something similar, you have a very selective approach to journalism.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Minimum 2 terms to fix the mess we're in, that's why working with LD's is essential.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
I agree , doesn't mean Labour should keep moving right though

Getting his excuses in early

ajiunit.com/investigation/… 😎facts and evidence anyone who cares to check can racist lawless and undemocratic party that threw 2 elections what a disgrace al part of the same established wealthy tories. Nothing more to add your narrative lies and smears have been dispelled

In reply to @PippaCrerar
That's a laugh, every Labour government in history has left us poorer and with higher unemployment. Starmer wanted more lockdowns, which is the real culprit in the challenges we now face in the economy. That would have made it far worse.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
I had a feeling he would say something along these lines.

He's started already blaming the Tories for the ineptitude of the Liebour party If they get in typical liebour

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Translation: I haven’t a clue but I need to tax you more & spend vast amounts of money whilst me and my crack team of racist freaks & liars work out what us going on.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Coming from a party that has bankrupted the country every time they’ve been in power is a tad rich.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
This from a skint Labour Party. Can't even manage their own finances. It's merely the same people crying for me 'free' money because they don't want to admit massive borrowing has already led to higher inflation. As those to the Right all told you.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Damage to finances...last time liebour were booted out the no more left note surfaced. We still have some left, even if you don't think so.

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Not taking a single responsibility for the COVID restrictions he and Labour supported and called to be longer and stricter then .. what an absolute weapon

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Christ, an excuse already.!!!

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Problem is how does his promises get funded - Robin Hood taxes? The rich just leave…who do you tax next?

In reply to @PippaCrerar
You’d have to be a delusional imbecile to vote for one of the mainstream parties / political establishment. When has it ever served you well ? When have they ever kept their promises? If you have to vote then vote INDEPENDENT, at least you’ll have genuine representation…

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Hope Keir sorts out the rampant islamaphobia within the executive committee.

He's defending himself before he's got the job...cop out. He'll steal as much as Boris

In reply to @PippaCrerar
It was when labour last in short memories or you still in nappies??

That is an understatement

We could see this happening that’s why we’re off.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😉

In reply to @PippaCrerar
Just getting his excuses in ready for when he puts taxes up typical Labour Party nonsense.
