"Given elevated inflation pressures in many countries, including the UK, we do not recommend large and untargeted fiscal packages at this juncture, as it is important that fiscal policy does not work at cross purposes to monetary policy."

Financial experts in the IMF are hardly "left woke" nor have a stake in UK domestic politics.

They are spooked by the madhouse, with cabinet undercutting the entire UK economy.

IMF are pretty good at trashing economies too.

I think it all started with the slogan 'taking back control'...

But giving her cover to slash public spending and blame the IMF. Healey, 1976. Crude, but simple politics.

IMF being all woke and lefty

Liz Truss is confused right now because all her advisers told her she would be extremely popular with the people by this time.

The U.K. is once again the sick man of Europe

It's doing wonders for an American looking to travel to Europe. Keep up the good work

Going well in the UK, nothing to see here鈥

Para terminar su transici贸n a pa铆s bananero, Reino Unido ahora tiene un conflicto pol铆tico con el FMI.

To confirm, that is the IMF. The International Monetary Fund. An international financial institution, a UN agency, openly criticising our shambolic government. Just embarrassing. They鈥檙e not just killing our economy, their killing our global credibility. #GeneralElectionNow

Who else has Truss left to piss off?

Iceberg warning. Probably nothing to worry about

IMF basically saying 鈥測ou asshole are do opposite of what should be done 鈥 . If they don鈥檛 call a snap election in britain 馃嚞馃嚙 soon i think there will be A LOT more pain in the coming months for that country . @BBCWorld

Bad economic policies are not a privy of the left. The "learn econ 101" right-wing crowd, once in power, often actually make extremely disastrous economic policies.

This is why I wanted Truss to win. Hopefully, the housing market and economy will crash quicker now we have a muppet running the country

Yeah鈥︹.@KwasiKwarteng probably should have done his due diligence shouldn鈥檛 he?

Just knew this was going to happen

And there it is.
Basically- you have to let economic technocrats induce a recession鈥.

If you thought the EU debate was ideologically driven, try arguing with an economist鈥 haha

Kwarteng go collect o... Chai. Wahala for handed bredas.

Loose translation: The UK policy is a total, contradictory b@#@s up.

Oof!

I guess the push will be on for England to leave the IMF now?

Austerity cannot fail. Austerity can only be failed.

shit, when even Ethan Hunt thinks you're being a tad reckless, you *know* you fucked up

Oh. Well that's perfectly okay then

The International Monetary Fund is taking a dim view on Truss' budget.

(It's as much hers as Kwarteng's, she's First Lord of the Treasury).

Jings. IMF now holding discussions with UK. Been interesting the number of tweets from Cons MPs/MSPs completely ignoring that the UK Govt has brought the country to its economic knees. Ferries/gender/Starmer/boats/foreigners, yes. Economic disaster? Strangely not a peep.

The IMF also employed a convicted criminal as its head, so do you pay any attention or credibility to what it says?

IMF openly criticises Truss!!馃榿馃榿馃榿馃榿馃榿馃榿

Would be fascinating to see an international effort to remove these people from power

Oh and now the International Monetary Fund (IMF) disagrees.

Its literally just the few shady right wing think tanks, Truss & Kwarteng sticking by this.
