We鈥檝e only ventured down the block a little as there are no traffic lights and no stores open so we are trying to just clean our yards in a complete daze and trying not to think of how close we were to death last night鈥 馃ズ

Let's not call it Hiroshima... This is mother nature! PERIOD

Omg so heartbreaking, man.

It's NOT Hiroshima. NOT even remotely close. Why? Because your eyeballs didn't melt. 100,000's of thousands didn't die. No one got cancer from radiation poisoning. You built on expoed land in an active hurricane zone and used inadequate building codes.

Thanks for adding the puppy part

Poignant, helpful and sympathetic reporting by my colleague @BrianEntin on the devastation in SW FL. 鈥淚t鈥檚 like Hiroshima,鈥 one man tells him.

Thank you for sharing. My heart is heavy. I live in Florida. This is depressing. How do you decompress and handle all of this bad news?

In reply to @BrianEntin
Awww come on! Can you seriously make it worse than that??? I'm whining because I had to come home early from my first vacation in 10 yrs....and now I feel like a total privileged asshole. I'm so sorry. For Joey and his neighbor

In reply to @BrianEntin
Omg, hope the pup made it! 馃槗

People were told to leave

In reply to @BrianEntin
Please understand that many people were unable to leave because they didn鈥檛 have a vehicle, money for food and fuel, or a safe place to go.

no doubt the hurricane was devastating but no way theyre comparing it to a Hiroshima???

there's no such thing as mandatory evacuation lots of people don't have a place to go shelters are full hotels were full the ones that are not full are $400 a night the people that stayed or the poorest people who needed the most help.

Can you imagine telling this hero that aid to his now destitute neighbors would be distributed based on race? Aid isn't, in fact, being distributed in such an illegal manner, but how woefully out of touch this woman is. twitter.com/BrianEntin/sta鈥

Incredibly heartbreaking.

Maybe Trump is on his way to toss some paper towels at these people.

12 ft surge on that island. Folks are still without power and water all over Lee County. 4 days and counting. Flooding on the 2 major highways delaying people from getting out of the area but where will they all go?

Your report sucks! People were warned to leave for many days. It is a large area; the responders cannot be every where at once. Maybe you should report on Biden giving billions to Ukraine as Floridians need help. Your ridiculous negativity is pathetic!

Please help this puppy!!
