...well said King Dyer!

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
He's right. I've long said that Universal Credit is an excuse for employers to underpay, and be subsidised by the rest of us.

Maybe Kwunti Kwunteng should remember this when he reduces benefits soon to further compensate these very same wealthy employers.

Refreshing! If we learned anything from the pandemic, surely it was that the functioning of this society and our health and wellbeing depends on under-valued, underpaid workers. Not hedge fund managers!

So true! My father in law drove a bin lorry for 40yrs. He loved it, started early, finished early. He got paid well back in the day. He never wanted to change. We need people like him & to stop people pushing others to unskill when they don't want to.

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
& some of those that bang on about paying people benefits were on furlough. A government benefit they needed during hard times, funny how soon they forget 鈥

Here鈥檚 Danny Dyer with an 鈥榓lt鈥 text image description pic.twitter.com/jBsqECJkKb

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
Spot on. Although, while some employers could increase wages n reduce profits, us consumers are also the problem. We expect cheap products and services, so a lot of low-paid jobs have to be done for those low wages; then we balk at the thought of paying benefits

Never looked at it like this

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
He found out his that his family history was royalty, so wouldn't it be good if he was King now?

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
He鈥檚 spot on, and people who work hard who still need benefits fully deserve them. It鈥檚 the lazy bone idle fuckwits who choose not to work who are happy to claim benefits that need sorting. There鈥檚 plenty of these leeches about.

Danny Dyer is my kind of left wing 馃槀

Add this to his Brexit/Cameron piece on live TV and Danny Dyer is an underrated commentator. #ToryCostOfGreedCrisis

Never thought I would retweet Mr Dyer but there is a lot of truth in this

Thank you. Not for me but for the others. Nice to hear someone care about those looking after us and/or suffering.

Our entire economy is founded on the continuous exploitation of immigrant labour force (not only blue collar). Only when it stops, will workers be paid a fair wage.

That last point is bang on

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
If anything lockdown taught is its that the essential workers are appreciated the least.

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
I am agree with your thoughts

Absolutely, state sponsored abuse.

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
Nicely put. And the government are one of the biggest culprits.

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
I agree 100%. It鈥檚 the weasels who see benefits as a lifestyle choice and don鈥檛 work are the problem

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
It's true I don't get out much any more, but I don't know anyone who is defrauding the benefits system.

Yes, in a few cases, but I don't live amongst your elite group. I live with a family of benefit cheats who have hardly worked in their life. Experts at pushing the 'I am a poor soul' as they suck up their Bong, Boose and space out the birth of their kids to max benefits. Be fair.

It鈥檚 people who use the benefit system as a lifestyle ( don鈥檛 work) then complain how little they get. All in all, the benefit system is there to cover basics while you鈥檙e between employment.

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
Rich coming from a man with no talent as far as I can see, who takes a fortune from us licence payers for doing bugger all.

There wouldn't be a need for most people to receive benefits if employers paid a fair wage. Benefits are really just a way in which governments subsidize unethically run businesses...

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
We need to get it from both sides not one or the other.

100% agree. All jobs should have realistic living wage pay. You should be able to work 40 hours per week as a street cleaner or care assistant or farm hand or any of the other jobs that keep our country running, and be able to afford a home, energy, food and clothing.

Not a fan of the the Dyer, but he makes a good point!!

In reply to @RealGaryWebster
I鈥檓 going to guess people are taking about the piss takers when complaining about benefit recipients. Not the actual people working and trying, who the benefits were intended for. Not the sit at home smoke 20 cigs a day dossers who have no intention to contribute

Benefits are the price we pay to pretend our society works.

We do this by
1. Large corps paying a meagre wage to delivery/supermarkets/cleaners
2. So workers need topping up with benefits
3. All so you aren't horrified by the cost of your actual weekly shop.

It is a choice.
