Creep by Radiohead. 80% of it is doable. The last 20% isn't. Nobody remembers until they're 75% and three beers in. Always a train wreck.

I did Grapevine once and honestly count it as one of my worst decisions inspired by pure hubris. I’ve seen the “Hoo hoo hoos” in Jeremy and the “do da do do do da do”s in Black murder people. If you cain’t rap, don’t. You’ll fail.

I cannot stress enough how you should never, ever, ever sing Led Zeppelin at Karaoke.

In reply to @cmclymer
I once tried Ants Marching. It was such a bad idea I retook my seat before the song was over.

November Rain. Any song that has long instrumental breaks where people have to just stand around and wait.

In reply to @cmclymer
Any Bonnie Tyler is nice and easy for me. I also like a Nancy Sinatra. "What's Going On" by Four Non Blonde's is hard!

In reply to @cmclymer
Difficult, I’d think, would depend upon your key. I’d never try anything by Mariah or Whitney, for instance. Easiest has to be “Shout” by the Isley Brothers or any other song that encourages everyone else to sing along with you. I can carry a note or two, but it’s good insurance.

Whatever you do, don’t have 3-4 beers and then think you can hop up on stage and belt out “My Sharona” with a live band backing you. Because you can’t. And when I say “you”, I mean “I”.

Hardest: “Young American” by Bowie. Contrapuntal, varied, triplet-based lyrics, varied dynamics requiring breathiness and vibrato, and a bananas 2-octave range. Easiest: “Margaritaville” by Buffett. You just need to be drunk.

In reply to @cmclymer
Depends on your range. I can nail most men who are tenors, but Steve Perry?! Forget about it. Too high to belt. And no one wants to hear a woman sing karaoke in her head voice unless the song is appropriate

In reply to @cmclymer
Take on me by a-ha. No one can hit that range after drinking with no warm up.

In reply to @cmclymer
The hardest song to sing is one you really love and know by heart, but is half an octave too high.

Once, a friend signed me up at a bar in Nashville. His selection? Total Eclipse of the Heart. I'm a bass singer, but braved the challenge. The crowd was quite forgiving. Never again.

In reply to @cmclymer
I was surprised at how difficult Springsteen’s Born to Run was during karaoke. Much easier to sing along to in the car lol. Love Shack and Don’t Stop Believing get my vote for easiest!

The answer to both questions is Total Eclipse of the Heart

In reply to @cmclymer
I’m going with Alanis “You Oughta Know” for easiest…close second: “Love Shack”… I personally like “Cherry Bomb” or “One Way or Another” just for fun…most difficult: maybe “Dog Days Are Over”…🤷‍♀️

In reply to @cmclymer
Most difficult: tie between Wuthering Heights (Kate Bush), Vision of Love (Mariah Carey), and Kiss from a Rose (Seal) Easiest: Tequila (The Champs)

In reply to @cmclymer
“Tequila” by The Ventures is the easiest.

In reply to @cmclymer
I've only been out singing karaoke once, but I went with a friend who does it all the time. She was otherwise great, but she was totally destroyed by Beyonce's Halo.

Queen is really hard to do karaoke, especially this one youtu.be/zO6D_BAuYCI

In reply to @cmclymer
Hard: I Will Always Love You by Whitney Easy: Faithfully by Journey

In reply to @cmclymer
4 non blondes, what’s going on, is the (sleeper) hardest song. When you’re drunk you think you can do it, but once you get started you immediately realize you’ve made a huge mistake.

This seems like it should be in the running for difficult youtube.com/watch?v=tKjZuy…

In reply to @cmclymer
"Welcome to the jungle" really suffers if you can't hit the notes. Very few people who pick welcome to the jungle can hit the notes.

In reply to @cmclymer
I’ve yet to see hear anyone who has gone through androgen puberty successfully do Don’t Stop Believin at karaoke in the original key. Even if you have the training to hit the notes, the mic volume is rarely turned up enough to sing it sustainably. Then there’s the alcohol.

Not necessarily a difficult one but just a flat out bad choice depending on the version your DJ has: "Hey Jude" by The Beatles.

The "Na Na Na NaNaNaNaaaa"'s at the end go on for literal **minutes**. Like, they start at 3:10 of a 7 minute long song. pic.twitter.com/EJRUldFCGS

One song that is hard is Piano Man. For me the easiest ones are Neil Diamond or The Monkees.

In reply to @cmclymer
Good: Criminal by Fiona Apple Love Shack Little Red Corvette I Will Survive Harder than you think: Midnight Train to Georgia Summer Nights I Will Survive Don’t do it: My Way My Heart Will Go On

Easy: Super Bass and Cherry Bomb!

In reply to @cmclymer
the easiest for ME? The Humpty Dance the hardest? I tried "Walk" by Pantera too many times

Hardest: Killer Queen

Easiest: Probably Happy Birthday lol 🎉

In reply to @cmclymer
My go to if I can only fit in one song is Dream On, which a lot of folks seem to think is hard but is way easier than so many more popular karaoke songs.

In reply to @cmclymer
Off the top of my head: Hard: I Will Always Love You (Dolly or Whitney) Easier: Cover of the Rolling Stone (Dr Hook)

For me, easiet song was "The Sound of Silence" by Simon and Garfunkel. I scared myself briefly because I hit those higher notes without effort. Hardest I've tried was "It's the End of the World as We Know It" by R.E.M. I got tongue tied on that one, plus timing breathing is hard.

In reply to @cmclymer
From my Rock Band experience, “Eye of the Tiger” was the easiest and “More Than a Feeling” the hardest. But Queen wasn’t licensed so any of their songs could’ve been hardest.

In reply to @cmclymer
Easiest: Bohemian Rhapsody. The crowd sings it for you.

In reply to @cmclymer
Pro tip: do NOT sing Red Red Wine by UB40 unless you can rap at the end. Talk about a walk of shame.

In reply to @cmclymer
Since karaoke means “bad singing,” wouldn’t the most difficult one to sing badly is the easiest, and vice versa? (The answers are, respectively, Bohemian Rhapsody and any Lou Reed song)

In reply to @cmclymer
Roxanne. I'm still traumatized by my own performance.

Rapper’s Delight is pretty challenging youtu.be/rKTUAESacQM

"Hook" by Blues Traveler. "It's the End of the World" bt R.E.M.

I know Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and sing that song at Karaoke, but it's hard as hell to sing well.

Some of those Taylor Swift songs have pretty tricky phrasing.

In reply to @cmclymer

We didn’t start the fire lol

My All by Mariah for hardest and probably anything Johnny Cash/Pearl Jam/Radiohead - that shit is kindergarten.

In reply to @cmclymer
I had Karaoke Revolution for PS2, which really just measured your pitch essentially. And there was one song I always nailed: Photograph by Nickelback. So don't anybody tell me they're a bad band, I can actually sing their songs!

In reply to @cmclymer
Hardest is basically anything by Disturbed. David Draiman has a staccato delivery that is hard to replicate. Linkin Park is hard too because Chesters voice is hard to do. Easiest was Snuff by Slipknot and Your Decision by Alice in Chains

In reply to @cmclymer
Don't sing anything Whitney! Do sing sweet Caroline. People will join in and sing for you. (Although I hate that song) 😂

Difficult: Bohemian Rhapsody (don't even try it)

Easy: TubThumping by Chumbawumba

In reply to @cmclymer
A song that you really feel and can lose yourself in the singing -and is in your range- is the easiest to sing.

In reply to @cmclymer
“Mickey” (Toni Basil) is deceptively hard. I’m not sure there’s a break for air in the last third of the song.

In reply to @cmclymer
Easiest: These Boots are Made For Walking Hardest:something by Whitney

In reply to @cmclymer
youtu.be/DrDM6V08wcE this song would be incredibly difficult, particularly the scream towards the end would be hard to do well, especially if you don't do metal vocals to begin with. Easiest? I'd say "Walk The Line" by Johnny Cash

In reply to @cmclymer
90s Easy: Country - Garth Brooks, George Strait, The Judds Hard: Hip-Hop and R&B - Whitney, Mariah, Biggie, Bone Thugs, the Wu, Pac (but everybody knows the hook).

In reply to @cmclymer
Usually Christmas songs. Drinking eggnog does that.

In reply to @cmclymer
Easiest: “These Boots Are Made for Walking” Hardest: “Bohemian Rhapsody”

The most difficult SOLO song to sing WELL is "Black Velvet" by Alanna Myles. Group song? Bohemian Rhapsody, of course.

In reply to @cmclymer
Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now' took me down.

In reply to @cmclymer
I hate All Star because I have heard people ruin great songs singing it to other tunes. fav - to feel my love. Worst- any Sia song, for my voice

In reply to @cmclymer
I think this is so personal. My song is Careless Whisper - not because it’s easy- but because it draws emotion from me and that makes it work (and I can’t sing for sh*t!)

In reply to @cmclymer
Easiest is Tequila. One word lyric.

In reply to @cmclymer
Notoriously, whitney Houston - the greatest love of all

In reply to @cmclymer
Unless it is very special circumstances and crowd is 110% with you, never sing any song longer than 4 minutes. Tops. Once I sat through an excruciating version of Paradise by the Dashboard Light

Hardest- I Will Always Love You
Easiest- Wannabe by Spice Girls

In reply to @cmclymer
Hardest: No One Like You - Scorpions Easiest: Three Little Pigs - Green Jellÿ

In reply to @cmclymer
Rapper’s Delight is much faster than one may realize.

In reply to @cmclymer
The key is to know your vocal range and stay in it. I would never attempt to sing anything by Whitney. My go to is Amy Winehouse. She sings lower and if you sound off or drunk, it’s just part of the performance.

In reply to @cmclymer
Dylan songs can’t be that hard to do…

In reply to @cmclymer
Obviously the easiest is Don't Stop Believing by Journey because EVERYONE sings along!

In reply to @cmclymer
Hardest for me personally: God is a woman. Easiest: Put your head on my shoulder.

In reply to @cmclymer
Hallowed Be Thy Name by Iron Maiden would be most difficult. Electric Avenue would be nominee for easiest
