My latest for NBC, “What these leaders most detest, as evidenced by Xi’s videotaped temper tantrum with Trudeau, is transparency. We should be working hard to ensure they have to publicly face more of those inconvenient truths...” nbcnews.com/think/opinion/…

Sad that it takes U.S. publications to put Xi telling off JT incident in its proper context, as here is another one: washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/editor…

In reply to @BrettBruen
Try telling this to #CdnMediaFailed we basically have Faux News 24/7 up here.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Then we have to keep conservatives out of power

You need to come to Canada and see Trudeau refuse to answer any question he is asked in Parliament.

In reply to @roulinski
AND, NBC News: President of China threw a temper tantrum at the PM Repeat: Temper tantrum.

See? This how responsible media viewed the Trudeau exchange internationally. If you saw it any other way you saw what you wanted to see.

Trudeau gave him a smackdown.

Trudeau is a drug addict. His parents were drug addicts. But in either case - he has nothing to do with transparency. The issue here is that as fast as Trudeau wants to see Canada as a vassal state of China, it’s not fast enough for his master Xi.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Xi is upset because Trudeau made deals to cooperate with other Asian countries. Now, China doesn't have complete influence in the region.

What a difference between the media coverage in the US and the coverage by Canadian media.

The difference? US media doesn't have Trudeau Derangement Syndrome.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Democratic transparency and openness are the hallmarks of leadership

NBC sur la rencontre (l’affrontement?) entre Xi et le PM de notre pays : “Xi Jinping just got a taste of democracy and he didn’t like it”
👍🏻

In reply to @BrettBruen
Trudeaus gov has been anything but transparent with its own citizens.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Temper tantrum? Did he throw things, kick dirt on his shoes, shout, stamp his feet? Or did he express what he was angry about and offer to shake Trudeau's hand? Where is the tantrum?

Canadian haters gonna hate, but the rest of the world admires Trudeau and how he stood up to Xi.

"it’s standard operating procedure for democratic leaders to leak elements favorable to themselves to the press after meeting with foreign government officials." not clear to me that what you're describing is somehow synonymous with democracy

Yet another example of balanced, 🇺🇸 reporting of this confrontation which has been sorely lacking in 🇨🇦.

Canadian media could use some “transparency”.

Journalists that are failing to call-out, or call-in, colleagues are complicit.

If you feel Canada has valuable media, give your head a shake.

Tandis que Québecor pense que Trudeau a été ridiculisé par Xi…

Perspective matters

In reply to @BrettBruen
Wow you really think rainbow sock boy h gave Xi "a taste of democracy"??! 😂🤣🤦‍♀️ I have a bridge to sell ya🤪

Couldn't agree with you more.

In reply to @BrettBruen
In my view there are great differences in culture, custom, history, thinking and working methods between China and the West. There will be a long way to go to understand each other. China is learning from Western civilization with an open attitude.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Justin Trudeau is a slime ball and can't be trusted.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Trudeau wouldn't know democracy if it slaped him in the face he got in shit from his handler and idol because he said something he shouldn't have remembered he admires their basic dictatorship fucking trator

In reply to @BrettBruen
Some people over-interpret or interpret it according to their own way.

He is. - Recovering diplomat @BrettBruen shares an interesting related view, with ideas for a more effective, critical press. If he applies this to Covid too, we’ll make some progress!

In reply to @mapleridgered
It's just beyond me that the US media (not talking Fox garbage) saw what occurred completely the opposite of most of the Canadian press. Perhaps because they have no skin in the hate PMJT game. twitter.com/BrettBruen/sta…

In reply to @BrettBruen
I think @JustinTrudeau didn’t like being scolded because he ran like a little sissy girl with a tail between his legs

In reply to @BrettBruen
You used “Trudeau” and “transparency” in the same tweet. pic.twitter.com/dNwCGVQnwm

In reply to @BrettBruen
Fake news. You are missrepresenting Xi's complaint. Blackface allegedly made up the story for the press. Besides that, look at the body language of this 'part-time high school drama teacher'.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Its not about truths. China doesn't care what people think, So why should we believe this inconvenient truth narrative. Its irrelevant. Its about a weak PM who was chided and was embarrassed. Thats all.

In reply to @bruceanderson
Scolding?? President of China threw a temper tantrum at PM Trudeau: NBC News. Repeat: Temper tantrum.

In reply to @PKB_Canada
And, NBC News says: President of China threw a temper tantrum at the PM

In reply to @sunlorrie
Ok, fine. But let's see fewer Opinion pieces claiming that the PM was "humiliated" and just accepted the "scolding" Many news reports confirm he stood up to Xi and explained what we do in a democracy. AND: NBC News: Xi threw a temper tantrum at PM

In reply to @nationalpost
President of China threw a temper tantrum at PM Trudeau: NBC News. Repeat: Temper tantrum.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Just another info manipulation and West propaganda. Trudeau got slap from Xi because he tried deform the discussion content.

In reply to @BrettBruen
more like a case of indiscretion

In reply to @BuckSexton
President of China threw a temper tantrum at PM Trudeau: NBC News.

Interesting commentary from outside Canada

In reply to @1MikeMorris
Another American news outlet says this: President of China threw a temper tantrum at the PM Granted Susan Delacourt (Star) used the term "tantrum" a few days ago, but was the only one in Canada.

In reply to @SenatorHousakos
Except that’s not what happened and the US press knows it.

I sincerely hope nobody minds me saying that TurdBoy is the dumbest, most incompetent, most unethical pile of dog feces ever dropped on this planet!

This could have been done 10 month virtually. Trudeau brought it up bc he needs something to go home with. Now he needs to prosecute the culprits.

When you sell your soul to the devil, sometimes he comes to collect, JT best get hold of Klaus, to see what his next move is!!

In reply to @BrettBruen
One interesting fact the press hasn't been mentioning about this story is all this information Xi was complaining about was actually published in July 2021 on CSIS own Canadian government website in a report on electoral foreign interference canada.ca/en/security-in…

In reply to @BrettBruen
I love how the sarcasm runs deep on your tweet. Canadians thank you.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Trudeau’s government is closed by default. The less transparent most scandal plagued government in history.

In reply to @BrettBruen
You think Trudeau is transparent??😂😂😂😂😂

Funny how @NBCNews has zero issue with Justin Trudeau releasing the contents of their meeting but the Conservative @nationalpost is upset with our PM.

In reply to @PKB_Canada
NBC News' take on the topic: President of China threw a temper tantrum at PM Trudeau.

Funny, how other countries view it as a positive thing.

Thank you to US media for telling the truth about Xi Jinoing’s bullying of Justin Trudeau.

In reply to @BrettBruen
I am sorry but Trudeau track record makes him unable to do that in any meaningful way.

In reply to @ConsumerSOS
President of China threw a temper tantrum at PM Trudeau: NBC News. Repeat: Temper tantrum.

In reply to @BrettBruen
Trudeau is not transparent in the least. Selective transparency is no better than any other dipshit out other violating it in any other dictatorship country. Lawd gimme a break, trying to pay yourselves on the back for being transparent, blind is what you really is son

Canadian media have done nothing but snipe, cowering before Xi like they’re accusing @JustinTrudeau of doing.
