The other day, my dad was like "why don't they just Emergency Act all the gang leaders and freeze their bank accounts?" and I am honestly not sure why that's not on the table.
Canadian murder rates reach new highs — and it's mainly due to gang violence nationalpost.com/news/canada/ga…

When you trawl for tuna you catch a lot of dolphins. C'mon JJ let's not give up the presumption of innocence and due process that quickly.

Gangs and ordinary criminals don't threaten The State. Good, productive citizens, seriously & effectively protesting the abuses & overreach of The State are the serious threat.

You see, if they fix things, they'll have less drama to sell. They need that drama to turn individuals into team players. Team players are important, like this one pic.twitter.com/7VgstwwQlK

People don't stand for lack of due process, especially when good people get caught up in it. 2nd the Gov makes millions on dirty business, 3rd politicians are for sale, and very little in it for them to act solve anything meaningful. 4th personal risk starting that wood chipper!

Because that is a flagrant violation of their charter rights. If found guilty in a court of law perhaps it warrants discussion, however without a trial well I think one can see how that may become a tactic that is abused.

Dude and his dad think gang leaders keep accounts in their own names... Oh my word how sweet is that? 🤣 Why don't they just keep their tax refunds too!

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Because many are BIOPIC and they want their votes, hence why they are removing all minimum sentences.

To add to this ... the Cullen Commission basically said Canada has a massive, out-of-control money laundering problem that's intermingled with the real estate and gaming sectors, and law enforcement lacks the proper framework / national strategies / tools to address it. Hmmmm.

Ditto for the Fentanyl dealers. How was "the prospect of potential violence" the threshold for invoking the act, when people die every day in Canada from drug-trade related activities and our justice system has shown it can't handle the tasks at hand.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Because he's not worried about gang violence being a threat to the the himself like the truckers were.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
I assume all gang leaders have moved to secure crypto multi-sigs by now. It's what I would do.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Pretty sure this will make a top 5 list of really stupid partisan political hot takes.....really? you don't know why? You know you write about politics right?

Mr McCullough asks a very good question. If you are prepared to suspend the rule of law to procure Tow Trucks @davidlametti - why not suspend it to deal with all violent crime in Canada? You have undermined the very foundations of our legal system.

This is surely performance art.

WHY? They have proven their was no foreign involvement! They should be freezing Trudeau Foundation checking for Chinese donations bet he has some??

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
They prefer to hit on truckers, hunters and farmers lately for some reasons...

If criminals aren't registering their illegal firearms I'm sure their not putting their criminally obtained money in the bank ,only honest people tell the government everything they have why do you think it's so easy for them to do to us whatever they want without reprisal

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
That's what they WILL DO. And after they do that, you'll be next.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Maybe they vote Liberal?

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
"Gang leaders" aren't dumb enough to try to grind the country to a halt to force their will upon us all. Gang leaders didn't get covid bailouts for their business which they could use to drive to Ottawa.

Drug dealers rarely have bank accounts in their name and if they do it’s washed so they would have their money back in a matter of months.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Because Liberals NEED those guys (and the violence they bring) to advance their civil disarmament agenda.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
gang leaders don't PROTEST government

They are different. They have to be proven guilty first

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
gang leaders bribe the liberal government

So you and your dad have issues with rational thought, I see. Maybe it's not something you should be proud of, just saying.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Sounds like your dad is a dumb motherfucker.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Your Dad should run for Prime Minister, I would vote for him?

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
For the exact same reason we need to fight the use of emergency war measures acts being imposed at any time - if the state can arbitrarily name you something and justify you loosing you inalienable human constitutional and charter rights you are a slave

Oh JJ you would be out here still pulling your hair out if that happened crying about gang member rights and shit.

That would only make sense!

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Money laundering makes finding where the money from crime is quite difficult. They'd have to close those loopholes first.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
100% They know who all the mobsters and gang leaders are. Its no secret. Amazed at when they find new powers they don't use them against the powerful on either side of legality. Its only for use against the poor and middle class.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Brilliant! Why didn’t anyone think of that? pic.twitter.com/4tomTBIGeG

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Because our rules were written back in a time that people understood the importance of limited government and the due process of law. The Romans had an equivalent of the emergencies act. They called it dictatorship.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Gang leaders still have rights, rights to due process, rights to a fair trial, rights to have a warrant granted by a judge before searching the home, just like the EA was not needed for the protest, its also not needed for regular law enforcement. We don't in North Korea, Yet

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
No that’s only applied to people making g life difficult for Trudeau

In reply to @JJ_McCullough

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Because the courts would deem it to be against thier charter rights etc etc etc just like mandatory sentencing.

In reply to @JJ_McCullough
Because liberals protect the criminals & attack the victims.
