On today *International day for Elimination of Violence as against Women* I award Jodie Picoult

Gaslighter of the Year

@jodiepicoult says we should be on the same side as trans women, particularly as survivors of domestic violence.

Wait for her "reasoning"

"You should see your are on the same side because if you are the survivor of domestic abuse you at some point had your body fail you. It wasn’t strong enough. It couldn’t stand up to violence. If you happen to be trans you have had your body fail you." independent.co.uk/tv/lifestyle/j…

So women wouldn't be subject to DV if our bodies were stronger & could stand up to violence? Similar to "you wouldn't have been raped if your clothing were more appropriate & less provocative". Despicable @jodipicoult 🤷🏾‍♀️ #IDEVAW2022

Can we make violence against women about tr8ns? Of course we can!

Can women no longer have anything without the T's involvement? And the T's are as violent as all men... pic.twitter.com/NZQMPlBW02
This might be one of the most offensive, backwards things I've ever seen. Horrific that anyone would think this was an acceptable thing to say.
In reply to @iseult
This is an outrageous falsehood! Such an insult to anyone having experienced DV!
I abhor the US-export that is gender identity ideology, and I deplore the fact that narcissistic AGP men parasitising & hollowing out feminism has legal clout.

That sounds an awful lot like victim blaming from her....

What a disingenuous interview. I'm at 10 mins in and need to stop listening. I can only take it in small doses without shouting at my phone. I've already deleted my reply 3 times. 🤬

Does she think children who have been abused are also to blame because they weren't strong enough to fight off their attacker, or just women? It's possible to support one group of people without insulting another, why do these people find that so hard?

Well done for reading the book! I have only managed to listen 10 minutes of the interview with them. 🤢 twitter.com/iseult/status/…

This is so insanely offensive. Fk Jodie!

Bloody hell, what a stupid thing to say.

Proud to have been blocked by her today - fortunately I had no intention of readind the new book!!

Jodie’s brain has failed her, big time.
yeah every time a male says something like this just imagine they're talking about their own failure to protect their mother and you've got the real statement 🙂
Having a d*ck as a transwoman is equivalent to being r*ped as a woman…….WHAT
In reply to @Independent
But according to you it’s women’s fault for having defective bodies.
