This map is antartica-fish centred and ignores freshwater fishes cultures!
I love this map because it demonstrates the power of perspective and Australia’s unique geostrategic conundrum as the island-continent.
Shoutout to the intrepid piscine explorers who were able to map all of the African and European continents. Maybe someday soon they’ll explore the high plains of North America.
Hopefully interesting tidbit: since the earth is round, projecting it onto flat planes only works if you distort it. If I recall correctly, these types of maps are made to give a more accurate sense of the size of the oceans, instead opting to distort and split landmasses
I'm actually going to use this as a base for Namor's world map for Atlantis/Talokan, because it's unreal that Marvel doesn't have a good updated map for them and I want one.
