Wrong, because you end up with the question "Who can be trusted to decide what is intolerant?". The answer being noone. Everyone has their own biases. The only real answer is to allow people to speak and then point out why they are wrong. Kind of like we are doing now.

In reply to @karimbitar
He never said it would be UNLIMITED tolerance. He put rules. Just not what the left wants...

In reply to @karimbitar
The only paradox is rhetoric like this comic strip is spread by the intolerant because their ideas cannot survive a contest of ideas and must survive artificially through censorship and coersive compelled speech.

In reply to @karimbitar
There is no such unlimited tolerance ! The tolerance is dictated by moral, reason and common sens.

In reply to @karimbitar
That's a fallacy. Considering that several people rise to power because they were censored.

In reply to @karimbitar
So you are saying Nazi arguments are so strong that they will win if they aren’t censored?

In reply to @karimbitar
"So to be a more tolerant society.... we literally have to act like Hitler" - The Left How about not being Hitler, shutting down free speech and political opponents you don't agree with and arguing your points instead?

In reply to @karimbitar
You need to understand the difference between words and actions. Free speech is Words. Firebombing someone's church Invading a country Or depriving someone of a job based on skin colour is an action. Free speech. Freedom to act however you like Spot the difference .

In reply to @karimbitar
its very ironic. You probably do not understand who the nazis in the modern society are. Its the ones who censor scientists, lockdown people against their will. Treat them against the Nuremberg code and do not allow anyone to challenge their moral superiority. Already clear?

In reply to @karimbitar
We’re talking about permitting free speech, not genocide. Saying anything ≠ doing anything.

In reply to @karimbitar
What if I told you that intolerance doesn’t only come from the far-right / fascists?

In reply to @karimbitar
Wow perfectly said , The Dems are the most intolerant ppl I have ever seen

In reply to @karimbitar
This, of course, explains how the Berkley free speech movement progressed into today's intolerant bourgeois Bolsheviks and their insistence on censoring anything they object to.

In reply to @karimbitar
Brought to you by George Soros, the fellow bribing DA’s in an attempt to undermine the justice system. Open society foundation is 🤢

In reply to @karimbitar
Let’s say you remove the symbols from the top case. How do you decide who the intolerant one is?

In reply to @karimbitar
Tolerance of evil is where the US is heading with the degenerate, illegitimate administration in DC. If we don’t agree with their nonsense we’re being labeled terrorists by the President himself.

In reply to @karimbitar
As the duly appointed Minister of Who Is Tolerant, I declare you, Karim Emile Bitar, intolerant. Please face the wall.

In reply to @karimbitar
Cannot be tolerant toward intolerance. In free speech, we tolerate all speech, except that aimed at silencing speech.

In reply to @karimbitar
If you favor restricting speech, you are not in a liberal mindset. You are in an authoritarian mindset.

In reply to @karimbitar
Only today's woke left can turn "free speech," where we "counter offensive speech with more speech" into "we must not tolerate the intolerant" which simply means "we will not tolerate other's speech that we find offensive because it counters our narrative."

In reply to @karimbitar
This is exactly what is happening with the woke brigade

Who was more tolerant during ww2? Nazi who killed jews Gipsy and handicapped people because they were not the master race ? The Russian soviets who killed millions of political opponents The Americans who killed most of the Japanese pows because they were considering

In reply to @karimbitar
Progressives ideology 101: A world famous black rapper and a Mexican walk into a dining room: 'white supremacist nazis' Bernie Sanders and AOC literally funding literal goose stepping white supremacist nazis in Ukraine: 'Stunning and brave'

In reply to @karimbitar
Yes, this is what is happening with extremist lefts in europe.

In reply to @karimbitar
Ok but what if tolerance becomes empirical? Literally you could ask WHY should someone’s ideas be tolerated. If they answer with math..sure we can debate till we reach common ground…if the answer is “cause I want to” …kindly go to hell cause that’s not enough sorry…no?

In reply to @karimbitar
That's not the full quote

In reply to @karimbitar
Hey Karim go back to Iran and try to sell your ideas. Carry an extra nose just in case.

In reply to @karimbitar
And the biggest enemy of Democracy is Democracy itself! Give the People enough freedom to choose and they might just vote out Democracy. That does not mean we should abolish Democracy, but inform People about the dangers of Totalitarianism. Same with Free Speech!

In reply to @karimbitar
Total nonsense. If anyone becomes offended, thats their problem, not the person they are offended by. Speak freely, and if you don't like something, don't listen, stop engaging.

In reply to @karimbitar
By your logic then the liberal side of things tends to breed oppression, and that they are the asker of tolerance but will do evil in their demands of tolerance. Kind of scary to see how the liberal side of things is grinding their gears right now for ultimate power.

In reply to @karimbitar
Tolerance is just a fancy word for having low standards for society.

In reply to @karimbitar
History tends to repeat it self :(

In reply to @karimbitar
Yes... When you allow too many creepy crawlies to emerge from under a rock, its negative feedback! You know... Like CNN & woke America! Real thing to answer is why they digging up critters! And why does that happen before every major war? Then you warm!

In reply to @karimbitar
You never read Popper.

In reply to @karimbitar
Correct. We need to keep the left in check.

Better than tolerance : RESPECT. It really solves tolerance paradox! pic.twitter.com/UwhNlSlpS6

I'm becoming intolerant to the LGBTQ. I never gave. A shit, but damn. I'm really becoming intolerant of them now.

You cannot tolerate everything. Actually, you don't. You don't tolerate driving in counter sense. You don't tolerate non working brakes. You don't tolerate medical pills without the correct components. You don't tolerate weak cables on your lift.

In reply to @karimbitar
Tell me you are a communist without telling me you are a communist

In reply to @karimbitar
That is more about narcissism, power and control than tolerance.

Most people know Nothing about the big H man Only what the MSM and propaganda machine has told them A little research, opens ones eyes to how things can be Completely manufactured, made up.

In reply to @karimbitar
Good point professor. Since the Left calls the Right intolerant and the Right accuses the Left of intolerance, we must kick all people who use their voice.

In reply to @karimbitar
Oh you mean we should kill Danish cartoonists because they are intolerant of religion? And we should burn our cities because one police officer murdered a guy? Need to remember you are being "nudged" and "hacked". This is what Elon is raging against. He is pro human, warts n all.

In reply to @karimbitar
this is the kind of hypocritical circle jerk logic liberals love. They get to act like fascists and feel self righteous doing so.

In reply to @karimbitar
Yet here's the thing. That should be in the hands of the individual, not the government. For the government has their own agenda and as a result, might quash any attempt at discourse and debate in the name of the "greater good."

In reply to @karimbitar
Does not sound a paradox to me since the only thing you don’t tolerate is intolerance.

In reply to @karimbitar
Cool propaganda/fallacy/cognitive dissonance.

In reply to @karimbitar
The problem with this cartoon is it creates a false equivalence: allowing people to speak vile opinions is not the same as putting them in power ("give them a chance"). Freedom of speech & freedom of association mean we can condemn(verbally) & shun those who speak vile things.

In reply to @karimbitar
Hock of bs circular reasoning

In reply to @karimbitar
This paradox works for politics. Eg. You don’t allow fringe groups (literal nazis or communists) to form political parties. But as soon as you let whoever is in power decide what we can or cannot say, as citizens, you create authoritarian rules which get us closer to these groups

In reply to @karimbitar
Yet. What is int9lerance? No tolerating something because u consider it intolerant is as intolerant. And we have seen how people uses arguments like such "paradox" to justify blocking anything they dont like

In reply to @karimbitar
By this logic, your own ideology should not be tolerated. But those who our society has tolerated in recent decades have certainly been turning on the “straight white Christian” society that began tolerating them, so there is something to the premise.

In reply to @karimbitar
This paradox is bullshit.
