Thalidomide happened because we didn’t know the effects of different isomers of the drug. We do now.

While I think she is wrong, I think it wrong to take the piss. I think the vaccine is safe (I have had 4 of them) however I can understand why things like Thalidomide and other examples make people less trusting of drug companies.
 
Thalidomide was obviously very bad. But that argument in favour of rejecting all vaccines was trotted out at the start of covid, and it was repeatedly explained why the two aren't really comparable.

As someone else pointed out to her, thalidomide was withdrawn long before Emmas mum would have been pregnant so seems highly unlikely she lived through it at all.
