I work for a software company. They provide unlimited paid time off. This is the way it should be. Do not force people to come to work sick because their vacation and sick time is tied together. Despite having this kind of situation I've still only taken two weeks off this year.

Anything short of 100% victory for the unions is a complete failure by Democrats.

If you don’t like the terms, don’t take the job.

Congress should not have to bail out Joe Biden's failed negotiations with railroad unions. So much for him being the most "pro-union" president in American history.

How many sick days ? This is the question.

My mum works at a small laundromat part time with no leave of any kind. It’s so sad.

Wonder what else was in the bill?!! That would lead 207 Republicans to vote NO?

He who would seek to end debate is a dangerous man in America.

In reply to @funder
Are you going to flip the bill Scotty boy? 🤔 Small businesses cannot afford to pay employees for being sick.

Was that the only issue on the table or was it wrapped with a big pile of dung that would cost us to further not afford life? Actual question.

In reply to @funder
Yes, but how many?

“Rail employees are provided with significant time off. Generally, train crew employees have over three to four weeks of paid vacation and over 10 personal leave days. Depending on craft and seniority, these numbers can extend to five weeks of vacation in addition to 14 paid holi

In reply to @funder
Most civilized nations also have 4 day work weeks.

In reply to @funder
Pelosi led 211 democrats to vote against the train workers. Fact check if you don’t believe it

Workers without paid sick days go to work all the time, spreading germs, viruses, infections, and even death during pandemics

Yeah, let's let the corrupt, dysfunctional Federal Government control our lives even MORE...

In reply to @funder
It should be up to the employer, not government.

I agree about the debate part. Only a business owner can make this decision. Your post clearly identifies you as someone who has never run an actual business.

Scott Dworkin is spectacularly unqualified to tell even his fellow Democrat thralls how to think and act, let alone to tell every employer and employee in America how to determine work rules and the division of overall financial compensation. twitter.com/funder/status/…

This is the first time I heard of a Union that didn't have sick leave in the contract. Maybe I just had a good union but still....

Some companies will allow 3 days paid sick leave per year. That kind of generosity underwhelms me.

In reply to @funder
It’s the right thing to do! Republicans just think everyone that works is just a slave and deserves nothing.

In reply to @funder
What if they are called "Paid Time Off" instead of "Sick leave"?

In reply to @funder
The union just lost their leverage to get even more money and sick pay because they can't strike now.

In reply to @funder
They do just not additional. Don't like it don't work there.

No! It is a business decision! If they don't like the benefits, they should quit!

In reply to @funder

Small business owners like myself dont get paid to not come into work. We work regardless. Why should i pay someone NOT to work. Its a perk for working for me if i give it as a benefit. Shouldnt be a regulated requirement.

In reply to @funder
Agreed that it shouldn't be up for debate. It should simply be up to the employer.

In reply to @funder
So you want to control every business?

In reply to @funder
It would be interesting to know how much sick time people in Congress get.

In reply to @funder
Hey Scott do you own a business? Do you give your employees paid sick days? Show us how it’s done! Lead by example!

In reply to @funder
Labor expert and avowed far left authoritarian Scott Dworkin, folks, telling America's rail workers that neither decades ago nor today should the government allow them the freedom to negotiate for higher pay in exchange for no paid sick time. twitter.com/BarbC68373152/…

You work and you earn your sick days , Dumbass

In reply to @funder
