Lmao first of all, I鈥檓 happy the German team is out. However seriously?? This ball isn鈥檛 out ? Quick question: If this was the goalpost, will this be a goal or not ? Has it crossed the line enough to be considered a goal ? Simple. If VAR checks this for a goal 馃

It's not that hard to understand. Even you can do it in your house. pic.twitter.com/4zp6cdLysa

Japan 馃嚡馃嚨 went to Qatar for football, Germany 馃嚛馃嚜 went to Qatar for politics instead of football .busy defending the rainbow. Well Played Japan They should follow the laws of the country in which they are playing or traveling Weldon Qatar

In reply to @ESPNFC
And why are people so busy justifying or objecting Referee's decision on this match. Spain had 90min to score many goals as they could, but they didn't, Germany had three matches to qualify for rounds of 1, but they bottled, so why whine because of one goal..

In reply to @ESPNFC
Doesn鈥檛 matter Germany doesn鈥檛 deserve to advance to ro16 anyways

Good they deserve it after this years ago pic.twitter.com/sAClijf5Of

This isn't evidence 馃槶 I could do the same shit in my backyard and be just as credible

In reply to @ESPNFC
The ball should touch the white line imo for it to be considered in, not overhanging it

This was FIFA 21 my homie scored me from this pic.twitter.com/UjXfWrRi7g

In reply to @ESPNFC
Well then, why do we need lines, use the whole field. @FIFAWorldCup trying to justify what is not justifiable! Or if this ball is in, then the majority of the times the referees say that the ball is out of the field, actually it may not be the case!!! pic.twitter.com/YoXkH6sQRt

What now? Germany should reverse back to Qatar?

The surface of a sphere that touches the ground at any time is only at one point and hence you cannot go by where the ball touches the line but the position of the ball wrt to the line. This isn't that complex.

The ball should be a square to make sure this is easier to figure out

It was clearly not over the line. It鈥檚 only people who can鈥檛 be bothered to look at other angles who keep going on about it

In reply to @ESPNFC
so what 's going to be done. will the 3 points be taken away ?

In reply to @GhostHalFinney
Ever heard of a sphere? They earned their qualification.

Looks like the rule is looking at the entire diameter of the ball as viewed from the top...not that the ball has to be physically touching the line for it to still be in...if FIFA wrote the rule that way before the WC...then that's in and it was the right call

Blue grass is actually very beautiful.

Good. Fuck Spain

The ball was in but this pictures are a joke!

In reply to @ESPNFC
scientifically the ball shape should not in perfect round since the moving against the kick create the air pressure.. so who had decided to freeze the ball at that exact point before it bounced from shoe? better to show some pics in miliseconds so we know it was in or out.

Which kain village people be this?? 馃ぃ馃槀.. the forces of Spain held the ball

I was thinking what if it was any Muslim country vs Spain the hatred Qatar 馃嚩馃嚘 would have encountered could have been immense

The whole circumference must cross the line

In reply to @ESPNFC
The ball of Japan was more far of the line than this ball in the picture鈥

In reply to @ESPNFC

This is a dumb rule imo. Ball should touch line to be considered still in play

In reply to @ESPNFC
Here is the VAR of that goal 馃し鈥嶁檪锔 Don鈥檛 see what the problem is, the only people struggling are the people who don鈥檛 understand the laws of the game 馃憤 pic.twitter.com/fESbpbaQf9

In reply to @ESPNFC
if it was a goal using goal line technology you could have said the ball cross the line ,the refs watch could have vibrate immediately but since it wasn鈥檛 a goal the ball was going out of play the ball didn鈥檛 cross the line whether you like or not the ball crossed the line

In reply to @ESPNFC
These pics at a high school pitch?

Dumbest rule. Tf is this. I鈥檓 happy they out but wtf is this

I feel like this is dumb, the rule should be once more than half the ball go over the line it鈥檚 out

Fifa is a joke !!!!

I guess you could interpret rules really strictly but come on man this is not what the sports about. Happy for japan but this was not a goal

Afinal ser barrigudo tem l谩 suas vantagens

How many PIAA refs are calling this out of bounds? I say ALL of them 馃槀

This is killing the good sport hahah

Abeg fifa dey whine us

match don go already they should let it go too

We all know is this unfair but as long as they kicking Germany out no one cares

In reply to @ESPNFC
Tell fifa to sleep now

In reply to @ESPNFC
That ball is better than penaldo

In reply to @ESPNFC
Of course you show this instead of the video that they shared that the referee viewed when making the decision that shows the right decision was made.....

In reply to @ESPNFC
What they want you to see, is what you鈥檒l see.....

Okay, give me a fucking break. If you have to go this far to prove it "wasn't a goal", it's a goal. Spain lost. Let it go.

In reply to @ESPNFC
That ball in the pictures is more on the line than the one in the game was.

In reply to @ESPNFC
FIFA and Var have been bullshit this year

In reply to @ESPNFC
This is a clear over ball

The actual game was at night and this 鈥渧ideo evidence鈥 is clearly of a ball on grass in broad daylight. The sun is literally shining on the ball and the grass. Wtf!? 馃槀馃槀馃槀

Now come on, really?? This is going to be the most controversial issue for the next 5 years because clearly that ball is over the line. This is a complete failure of VAR for me. The 4th image looks like it was taken at an odd angle to the ball 馃樀鈥嶐煉, or am I trippin鈥?

This is so comic man 馃槄馃槄馃槄 it can go either way

In reply to @ESPNFC
C'mon.. they won, VAR is legal, Germans back home. Can't understand why you guys are still on it.! pic.twitter.com/EFCI93gizl

Eso esta afueraaaaaaaaaa

I understand the argument that if you draw a plane downwards from the side of the ball, it鈥檚 still over the line and therefore in bounds. Still a dumb rule though. Why is it not limited to only the parts of the ball that are actually touching the ground, which are clearly out?

In reply to @ESPNFC
馃槀馃槀馃槀馃槀

In reply to @ESPNFC
Oh you mean confirming what EVERYONE could see without VAR

Okay but like this isn鈥檛 how evidence works really hahahaha

Had Germany beat Japan, they & their fans wouldn't have be such pussies about this. But they lost, so Japan clearly deserves more to go to the last 16.

Now FIFA has started playing coverups. This has been world cup of so many dubias decissions by both VAR and centre referees. Every thing has been completely below the standards from the hosts the organisers match officials and the partcipants

The blue is out of bounds the white is the IN BOUND line. Perfect picture. The whole ball needs to cross the line to be out.

Una mierda estan haciendo del futbol.

Thing is, there鈥檚 nothing only one perspective that will definitively show the ball didn鈥檛 fully cross the line. We鈥檙e working with the finest of margins here but the decision is correct. Cry some more
