The #Jets are hiring former #Broncos coach Nathaniel Hackett as their offensive coordinator, per sources.

Hackett previously called plays in Buffalo and Jacksonville, where he worked with Robert Saleh, and was widely revered during his tenure as Green Bay’s OC. A big hire.

Their top choice for the last week or so. The decision was Hackett’s about whether he wanted to return to coaching so soon. Robert Saleh interviewed about 15 people. Ended up with choice No. 1.

The Broncos offense exploded after he was fired

Is this the second franchise in as many years to hire Hackett with part of the idea being they can lure Aaron Rodgers?

LMAO. They really are going after Rodgers.

How do you fire Mike LaFleur (who had 22 games of Zach Wilson, 7 of Mike White, and 5 of Flacco) and then hire Coach Hackett from the same tree?

Isn’t the pitch for NH that it was the QB’s fault? Wouldn’t LaFleur have an identical pitch, but with more success, and worse QBs??

The first step in the Jets going after Aaron Rodgers?

Lining things up to make a run at Rodgers?

People are making fun of Hackett after a year in Denver but quickly forget how excited they were when he was hired. Did a great job as a coordinator in Green Bay.

Some guys are much better coordinators than they are head coaches. Hackett is one of those.

Jets stellen die Weichen für den Rodgers Trade???

#GoPackGo

Another off-season of Rodgers going where Hackett is going rumors, sweet

#TakeFlight This is a sigh of relief for the rest of the AFC East.

The Jets must really feel they’re going to get Aaron Rodgers. If they don’t? pic.twitter.com/RjdkdyrOwX

Jets play at Denver next season lol

Let the Aaron Rodgers to Jets speculation continue to smolder...

All the times I said "fire Hackett" at the Ralph, never did I once stop to think that "send him to the Jets" would be a better/funnier solution

… Ain’t no way a SECOND team is hiring Hackett simply as Rodgers bait. I refuse to believe this.

Patriots tight ends coach Nick Caley also interviewed for that job.

It remains to be seen how the Jets hiring Hackett will impact his future in New England, especially given that he also won’t be OC there.

Bills were 15-17 under Hackett as OC

and 18-30 as OC at Jacksonville...

This is why that "coaching tree" stuff is silly to me. NFL recycles the same coaches

A veure si aquesta vegada el peix gros pica

Nice guy…. Terrible head coach.

No Green Bay return for Nathaniel Hackett. Instead, he replaces Mike LaFleur with the Jets

Reuniting him with Aaron has to be our FO’s top priority. Whatever it takes @woodyjohnson4 !!!

This is fascinating.

Whenever the nepo baby conversation with coaching comes up...let me know.

Aaron Rodgers to the #Jets rumors in 3…2…1…

LMAO. There’s a power move if I’ve ever seen one.

Lmfao 🤣 jets gona jets.

In 2024, the Panthers will hire Nathaniel Hackett as their head coach to get Aaron Rodgers

In 2025, the Colts will hire Nathaniel Hackett as their OC to get Aaron Rodgers

In 2026, the Texans will hire Nathaniel Hackett as their OC to get Aaron Rodgers

In 2027, the Broncos will

Jets about to have the worst red zone offense in the league.

I’ll say it once again. Failed in Jacksonville, thrived in GB as third most important voice behind Lafleur and Rodgers, then failed miserably as a play calling HC in Denver. He shouldn’t be creating/calling an offense in this league, guess NYJ hope it lures Rodgers

Rodgers to NY confirmed

As a Bills fan, I thank you tremendously.

Aaron Rodgers YOU are a New York Jet

In reply to @TomPelissero
More Rodgers to the Jets speculation incoming

Fire up the Rodgers rumors

I loved Hackett in Jacksonville. He made that offense work when we damn sure didn’t have pieces for it

In reply to @TomPelissero
They probably hope he can duplicate the great success of the Denver offense.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOO

In reply to @TomPelissero
You can tell how much of a good coach he is if he played with the broncos oh wait they aren’t even in the playoffs

"Hackett previously called plays in Buffalo and Jacksonville, where he worked with Robert Saleh, and was widely revered during his tenure as Green Bay’s OC."

So we're just going to remove the entire dumpster fire of the 2022 season in Denver from Hackett's NFL resume, shall we?

Are the Jets the second team to hire Hackett to try and land Aaron Rodgers?

You have got to be kidding me

Aaron Rodgers COME ON DOWN

I knew he’d land on his feet.

He just needs to not view his QB as a god and he’ll be good to go.

The Rodgers-to-NYJ hype just got stronger

Hope it works for them like the Broncos wanted it to work. #RodgersWatch

Hiring Nathaniel Hackett to prepare for Aaron Rodgers, a time-honored tradition.
