Thank goodness it was shot down over the ocean. Wouldn’t want to recover it and confirm that all this useful hysteria was over a weather ballon.

Looking at this view, it looks like the missile either impacted between the balloon and payload or right at the bottom of the balloon…and you can see the payload fall away at least mostly intact! :) twitter.com/andrewwmbf/sta…

Interesting shot. Why shoot the payload? Why not the balloon only? There is so much wrong with this entire episode. President potato brain is selling us out, still.
Looks like the missile hit the payload. Stupid if you want to recover it.
It should have been shot down when it first entered our airspace but they waited till China has done seen what they wanted too .
