@ajarrodkimber can I ask you about this image please. Its SA20 signed batters by their middle overs strike rate (x) and ave (y). I'm trying to think about what is better in this phase, higher ave / lower strike rate versus lower ave / higher strike rate. Any thoughts? Thanks! pic.twitter.com/sKCTrrHOyA

Harder to find high strike rates in there

Wonderful episode this was and lovely to see Shaun's initiative getting success after years in the making and giving opportunities for so many players. Hope this gets more and more women to play cricket globally and from countries where cricket is not a professional sport.

JUST IN: England to host Australia for a five-day women's Test at Trent Bridge during the 2023 Ashes.

This is a significant development in the women's game.

The only five-day Test ever scheduled in women's cricket was played in 1992, between the same sides at North Sydney Oval.

I'm just listening to the Salt Penis episode and hadn't realised you'd mentioned aforementioned racist in that! And quite correctly didn't give him the air-oxygen of mentioning his name...

Still a huge call.
Weird to go in the team, to out of the squad, in 2 games. Especially how much they have lent on him last 18 months

Are you including domestic stuff in those numbers? That doesn鈥檛 really factor in much, otherwise a few other faces would be in. McBrine has two wickets in six T20Is this summer, Singh obvs has no real intl record of late
T20I this year for the wicket tally (went back further for the v left handers and looked at all T20)

In reply to @ajarrodkimber
More expensive because he bowls in the power play more than mcbrine
Replying to @ElliottGJohns1 @nathanrjohns and 1 otherfalse
More expensive because almost no one has an econ of near 4 and a half against one type of batter to be fair - that's an obscene record

In reply to @davesera_sera
It鈥檚 wicket taking in general, he hasn鈥檛 taken enough this summer for their liking. Also his economy against r/handers has been high this year and Singh can bowl leggies if needed
McBrine has 10 in 12 (compared with 11 in 10). But their numbers are really similar overall. AS for the lefthander thing, McBrine going at less than 5 runs an over against them, but doesn't dismiss them, Singh gets them out (alot), but is around 1.4 runs an over more expensive.

Twitter must be broken, as it appears this pic has cut off Andy McBrine - or the less likely option, he has been left out of their squad

Sorkin loves cricket and has a cricket reference in a lot of his work. Here's @ajarrodkimber's video that covers the actual clip from the show (and more!) youtu.be/gDIkGZbx3Js

Interesting that the ICC have agreed that hybrid pitches can now be used in all international matches (rather than just women's T20s).

Presumably this will make things easier if they want men's cricket in future Commonwealth Games and / or cricket to be included in the Olympics.

One of our best batsman was out to a golden duck. As we were a couple of players short and somewhat struggling to get runs, the oppo allowed him to bat again. Only for him to get out for a golden duck again by the same bowler who got him out first time round!

For all the big money hoopla around T20 cricket leagues, the total salary budget for an IPL (aka the top) league is less than $12 million. This league is valued in the top five leagues of the world. Players are not getting enough as pro-cricketers! @ajarrodkimber
Replying to @om
Only Aussie cricketers get a huge percentage of the profit, and that was union led.

In reply to @ajarrodkimber
Because it has 6 teams so it's looks competative. If the league expands to 8 team you will see competitiveness decline..

Welcome to my world, minus the credit hours later
The belated I am caught credit is the new bit. I worked out years back that for every word I wrote they were republished illegally a minimum of four times.

I would suggest watermarking your visualisations, although that doesn鈥檛 really stop the copying from happening. It happens in every sport, on every platform unfortunately.
Replying to @JamiescottUV
You can鈥檛 watermark an entire video. They just crop it blur anyway. You can鈥檛 really stop people from doing it.

In reply to @ajarrodkimber
Was about to tag you in this thread and saw your tweet the next second. Even the graphics are straight screenshots... Disgraceful. To top it off, the last tweet of the thread is shamelessly lapping up all the credit...

I would start advising anyone who makes charts and concept arts to just put a watermark so that a random user doesn't start using your data charts in his own threads by copying all the content.
Replying to @cricket_bowl
It doesn鈥檛 stop them. They blur it out or crop it. Also, it ruins the aesthetic.
