During this event on car charging and buildings, @RobinLoos12 underlined the importance of charge points at non-residential sites such as shopping centres. Putting charge points where consumers go has a great potential for their use, and could be a commercial argument.

Conclusion: The EV revolution won't happen overnight by the simple will of the industry. Create the infrastructure, make it user-friendly, and consumers will endorse the transition, as shown in Which? article. Regulation must deliver and set clear requirements.

European legislators made very clear choices when regulating Big Tech in the #DMA & #DSA to limit the power of these companies and make them more accountable. Open Finance should be no exception.

We must prevent the 'Facebook-isation' of finance. Open Finance must not mean an open bar of people's data neither for Big Tech nor banks: beuc.eu/sites/default/…

With Big Tech entering finance we mustn't forget these companies don’t have the best record complying with competition, consumer & data protection laws. Regulators & enforcers mustn't replicate same mistakes as in other markets to let Big Tech companies off the hook for so long.

After #COVID there’s been a big rise in e-commerce transactions and…fraud. Good reason alone to speed up roll-out of Strong Consumer Authentication. But industry has so far dragged its feet. They tried to get as many exemptions as possible then deployed all efforts to delay.

BEUC’s @arcapde speaking today at ESAs Consumer Day. The digitalisation of finance means both risks & opportunities for consumers offering new services but can lead to info overload. We need rules to protect consumers & redress available when things go wrong. pic.twitter.com/83btIubZHM

The initiative on single ticketing and multimodal information is under preparation, and we at @beuc are supporting the Commission. Happy to see @TimmermansEU is giving it the spotlight it deserves!

We agree! For rail to become a real alternative, consumers need easier ticketing options and reinforced passenger rights. Time to make it happen! 🛤️🚄
Also @TimmermansEU - if you want this to happen, ALL rail firms have to allow third parties to sell tickets (as Kayak can sell a Lufthansa flight). And then rail passengers need a “hop on next train” guarantee if a connection is missed. Demanding through tickets won’t work.
