How does a player have a negative surplus value higher than his actual salary? Does that mean he's playing at a level that is actually bringing negative value to the team or am I misreading that metric?
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Is caufield gonna stay at that market value even if he’s injured?
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
If you add up the market value of all players, would it roughly equal the aggregate league salary cap?
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Can you explain the usage metric a bit? I didn't see it in the article that explains how to read the cards
Replying to @Teeeeejj
it’s how much offensive and defensive plus minus need to be adjusted based on quality of competition and teammates
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Holy shit zach Hyman! Lmao

How did it feel to have boldy sign an extension for on the dot value
Replying to @MNWildTalk
it felt fantastic haha
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
You have 50 point defensemen as market value of league minimum. Make it make sense.
Replying to @iamMikeA
maybe defensemen have more to do than get points

What happened to Bruce pained me to watch from afar. Unfortunately, it was all too familiar.

A Letter to Bruce, the man who taught me so many lessons in our short time on the same staff. He’s a special human, and this is why:…

Out of curiosity, what was his rating last season with Colorado?
Replying to @BleedingTeal
it’s on the card
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
if we have access to the athletic, do we have access to your player cards?
i truly never thought numbers like this were possible

-2.8 wins
all-time tank move

Rick Tocchet: I’m going to rely on Pettersson and Hughes to raise the bar in practice. #Canucks @Sportsnet650
With an improbable 6-1-0 stretch, the Chicago Blackhawks have dropped out of the top spot in Bedard Watch…
Replying to @domluszczyszyn
Chicago was as high as 22% before the stretch. Catastrophic tank awareness here.
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Do the Montreal odds reflect them owning the Florida pick or is that separate?
Replying to @MattMartin44
yes but that’s less than one percent

Whether you think the #Canucks are well coached, or not, Bruce Boudreau deserves better.

Not because Bruce is likeable, or a good person. Not even because he’s earned respect in this business. But because the way an organization treats people matters:…
Drance: Unfair treatment of Bruce Boudreau a symptom of deep Canucks dysfunction
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Crazy how you won’t even pretend to be unbiased. 12-2-1 without him in the lineup this year right? Guy is a turnstile with a muffin shot and a horrible contract.
record without a player isn’t all that meaningful. he hasn’t been at his best this season, but he still is what he is: a flawed and below average 1D. maybe he should be in 4B instead, but no one else on the panel said anything about moving him. not just me

“He doesn’t care what anyone else thinks about him.”

William Nylander should probably be going to the All-Star Game. There’s only one of him — and the Maple Leafs know it:…
Inside the mind of William Nylander: 'He knows exactly who he is'
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
I don't understand. This statement becomes a huge contradiction when you see people like Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin up there. Both are having fantastic seasons but it's inflated their ranking for sure.
Replying to @tristen125
definitely a balance with those two of how high to place them dahlin has pedigree of being a first overall pick so that’s helpful. tage is a unicorn and his rise has been meteoric
In reply to @Vezinacek
Also can’t help but note that ovechkin isn’t utilized defensively… he starts a shift in the D zone only 1.7% of the time. defense isn’t his role. If your goal is to judge every player on their 200ft game then so be it, but Ovi is a goal scorer, and should be judged on that
Replying to @Vezinacek
right and that’s fine. he’s in the same tier as kyle connor. the guys above can be used that way and be trusted defensively and that’s the main separator he has a definite 2B argument that can be made, we just didn’t swing it that way
In reply to @Vezinacek
Eichel: 15-19-34 in 33 GP Ovechkin: 30-22-52 in 48 GP
Replying to @Vezinacek
so if they played the same amount of games ovechkin would have two more points and would be worse at defense? 🫣
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
What do you think about Lekhonen for this list? Since he's been in Colorado the arrow has to be way up.
Replying to @PJSportsLife
i’m sure @hayyyshayyy will be lobbying hard this summer haha
In reply to @Coltonpankiw
Aren’t his underlying numbers pretty decent this year? I know he’s not getting many points but I’m sure it’ll balance itself out at some point
Replying to @ColeSwier @Coltonpankiw and 2 others
that, and his priors are obviously very strong
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Kirill not in tier 1? Get outta here.
Replying to @AaronBliss33
who are you taking out?
In reply to @Ray_Finkle_143
that is true. wrongly assumed people were familiar enough with the preseason list in terms of the goals of the list
In reply to @captastrophies
So, based on this year AND prior years… your “opinion” is that the “true talent” level of Brady Tkachuk is that he is significantly better than Alex Ovechkin. That is what you have said here. Am I reading that right?
Replying to @captastrophies
that says “matthew”
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Was Kyrou close to being considered over Thomas or Buchnevich?
Replying to @Poop53000309
he was the last cut (he was on preseason list)
Replying to @SaraCivian
holy shit that’s hot
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
I feel like the guy really getting done wrong here is Chychrun. Is it because he missed games to start the year or because Arizona is a black hole? Or is fed back from GM's trying to keep his value low?
Replying to @WildcatOil
last season was reaaaal bad, but yeah probsnly a good point
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
How close is K’Andre Miller?
Replying to @dirtykidcap
last years second half version is close. still not quite there
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Are the tiers ranked as well? As in the first person to move up into the top tier would be MacKinnon?
Replying to @adam_reymond
no alphabetical (unless i screwed that up)
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Who fell the most of any player?
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
this is Tage slander and I won't stand for it
Replying to @PeteBlackburn
we love tage putting him any higher is a bit tough after half a season (this is the highest we’ve ever placed someone after being previously off the list fwiw)
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Okay that’s decent, also what’s up with no nuge on this list? Considering it’s mid season rankings and he’s top 10 in scoring and arguably one of the better two way forwards, not saying stack this thing with oilers, but I don’t see how that’s a reality when he’s having a year.
i answered this to another person but basically - scoring is PP heavy (with a lot of 2A) - numbers don’t quite reflect two way rep - priors aren’t very strong relative to others he’ll probably be in the running for next years list, but those were the main issues
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Drai won the hart in 19-20 and has been outproducing matthews by a lot , i don't see him in that category . Matthews is having an okay year at best and to have him over better players is hypocritical, shows your leafs bias And reilly LMAOOO
Replying to @amalamalalamala
i’m sorry if your only way to determine player value is by looking at who has more points
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Point shouid be 2A. Also did Jordan Kyrou die?
Replying to @zachcancila
his defensive game did
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
Like matthews, okay , makar okay, but if you’re not gonna put drai in that tier, take mackinnon out of it, drai and him are both mediocre on D, and drai TORCHES, him in points. Can’t have Nate mack in their and not drai, and vice versa
that’s fair. it’s why we had them in the same tier at the start of the season. it’s hard when we wanted to show mcdavid in his own tier fitting everyone else in tier 1. still think drai is #5 to that top four with some separation from mackinnon, but maybe not a whole lot
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
What is matthews doing there LMAOOOO
Replying to @amalamalalamala
he won the hart trophy last year
In reply to @domluszczyszyn
We’ll that’s false, better cover up, your bias is showing.
your profile picture is connor mcdavid and your name is “evander kane revenge tour” have you considered your own biases?
