After 12 weeks of training at our National Training Centre in Rotorua, and a six week pause due to COVID-19 restrictions, they have finally graduated today and join the Fire and Emergency crew.

馃尦馃 Firefighters are used to saving cats stuck up trees, but yesterday career firefighters from Dunedin City and Port Chalmers Volunteer Fire Brigade and were tasked with rescuing a duck that had got its leg stuck between two branches.

Our dispatchers are based in our three Fire and Emergency NZ Communication Centres in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. They operate 24/7, responding to emergency calls and dispatching fire crews to attend incidents across New Zealand. Thanks for all your mahi!
