THIS BRINGS JOY TO MY HEART 🤍

After using his life savings to build a sports bar that was destroyed by rioters, Korboi’s goal was to raise $100K for its reconstruction.

Today, this MN firefighter has OVER $1M to put towards an even better sports bar!

Went back to the tape, and to his written statement. @GovernorVA has yet to say anything as forceful as "Looting and arson are illegal and people should not do that."

Garren Shipley Retweeted ·
“You don’t need a gun to protect yourself, just call the police” is curiously no longer something people are arguing.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appeared that the last question at the Governor's press conference today that referenced his yearbook photo rattled him so badly that he cut it short and decided to postpone information on youth sports for two more days.

Stop watering your crops with Brawndo, you fucking idiots pic.twitter.com/ffJ761EJ6c

But Brawndo is what plants crave.

Still waiting on @GovernorVa to condemn vandalism and looting.

Hamodia reporter asks why protest is allowed when prayer services aren’t.

@NYCMayor @BilldeBlasio: “400 years of American racism, I’m sorry, that is not the same question as the understandably aggrieved store owner or the devout religious person who wants to go back to services”

So @GovernorVA's contribution to fighting systemic racism is... everything he proposed during the General Assembly session?

Just got a fundraising email from @JoeBiden, subject line "I can't breathe."

Wear a mask unless you're protesting.
Social distance unless you're marching with thousands of others.
Stay at home unless you're looting.
I feel as though our political class might be full of s***.

(5/5) We must ensure those responsible for the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery are brought to justice. We must bring full justice for our black communities, through all our systems of govt, creating real, positive, and lasting change to our nation.

(4/5) We must condemn the atrocities that have sparked this outrage while peacefully and safely demonstrating. We cannot react to violence with violence. Let us instead address these injustices with positive actions.

(3/5) As we mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless other black Americans who have died tragically and needlessly, hurt, anger, and unrest is spilling out into the open because our citizens are tired of events like these continuing to happen

(2/5) While we have made strides in the right direction, we can and must do better to ensure equality, equity, and equal treatment for all.

(1/5) I cannot pretend to know any other experience than that of a white man in America. What I do know, however, is that our black communities continue to be disproportionately discriminated against. That is something we all can and must speak out against.

News you won’t read in the newspaper: Virginia Department of Health reports 15 deaths from Covid-19 yesterday. ELEVEN were in nursing homes, that’s 73% of the deaths. Remind me again, what is this mask mandate really about? #NursingHomeSlaughter #Virginia #ReopenVirginia

There's a good chance that media who can't tell the difference between ear plugs and bullets also can't tell the difference between tear gas and smoke.

Pro-tip: police officers who aren't wearing gas masks aren't going to throw tear gas and then walk through it, you idiots.

.@RTDOpinions takes @GovernorVA to task for being AWOL during protests, rioting.

"We find it curious that it was only after two nights of escalating violence that Virginians finally heard from Gov. Ralph Northam."

We weren’t allowed to properly mourn our loved ones. People already forget just how intense both the informal and formal “stay home!” orders were right up until... the moment the protests began.

Garren Shipley Retweeted ·
Dont take the bait today and start making excuses for the police responses. We know there are good cops. But there's a clear problem.

Extremism in defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in pursuit of justice is no virtue.

Hard to look at the response at the statue this evening before curfew and come away thinking the protestors were the problem.

We can condemn riots AND demand accountability from our police.

Chief Smith just reviewed this video and apologizes for this unwarranted action. These RPD officers have been pulled from the field. They will be disciplined because their actions were outside department protocols and directions given.

To our peaceful protestors: We are sorry we had to deploy gas near the Lee Monument. Some RPD officers in that area were cut off by violent protestors. The gas was necessary to get them to safety.

To our protestors:
You are placing you and others in grave jeopardy by attempting to pull down statues on Monument Ave. They are extremely heavy and would crush anyone standing too close. Please be aware of the danger. Stand down!

Virginia Beach, the Governor announced at SIX PM that a curfew will begin at 8:00 PM tonight.

You have TWO HOURS and if you aren't following @GovernorVA on Twitter you wouldn't know it until the cops are arresting you at 8:01 PM.

This guy is in the largest political media market in the world and he is just absent. Remarkable really.

Just saw my first real-world enforce/don't enforce conundrum from @GovernorVA's mask order. Clerk says "I can't serve" this person, supervisor says "yes, but..." and rolls into a 5 minute explanation.

But remember, totally not on business to enforce this.
