Has Devin Bush been 'phased out' on defense, would Steelers franchise Javon Hargrave and why does Neil O'Donnell's name come up in a response to Mason Rudolph? All that is today's chat.…… via

There are five 10-2 teams in the NFL. The Steelers played four of 'em in the first five weeks.
Such a typically classic -- and tremendous -- response by Troy Polamalu about being a HOF semifinalist in his first year of eligibility. Only thing better than watching Polamalu play was talking to him.
Hall of Fame semifinalist Troy Polamalu tells @jimrome that he's "indifferent" to individual awards in a team sport
Steelers have activated C Maurkice Pouncey and he has been placed on the Exempt/Commissioner Permission List. Steelers requested and received a two-day roster exemption for Pouncey that expires 4 p.m. Wednesday.
Arizona Cardinals rank last in the league in pass defense (307.5 yards/game), completion percentage (71.3), touchdowns (31) and passer rating (113.5). Otherwise, they're pretty good.
The Arizona Cardinals are the only team in the league to allow more than 300 yards passing per game (307.5). However, the Steelers are one of only two teams without a 300-yard passer this season. The Oakland Raiders are the other.
Tomlin called all the pre-snap penalties against Browns "negligence on our part" and said they were "almost catastrophic to our efforts."
Tomlin confirmed Devlin Hodges will start in Arizona. "He's performed well in hostile environments but he doesn't have a big sample size."
James Conner and JuJu Smith-Schuster not expected to play in Arizona, but Mike Tomlin said they can be listed as questionable "as I sit here today." But he also said, "They got some work ahead of them." He did say Conner has a better chance of being able to practice than JuJu

It was Duck’s mistake when he threw away pass on 3rd down w under 2 min remaining, stopping the clock. He was supposed to take a sack and keep clock running w no Cleveland timeouts left. Gave Browns another 40 seconds.
Steelers-Bills has been flexed to 8:20 pm on Dec 15 at Heinz Field.
I don’t blame Duck for the interception. I blame the play call — throwing on 1st down w a 7-point lead w 7 1/2 min left. Run two times at least.
After completing 10 of his first 12 passes, Baker Mayfield completed just 1 of his next 10.
That's the first time in five games the Steelers have scored more than one offensive TD in a game.
Once again, the Steelers failed to score a touchdown on their opening possession. Haven't done so since last year's victory against the Patriots at Heinz Field.
Steelers inactives: Lynch, JuJu, Burns, Conner, Skipper, Okorafor, Gentry.
Just another idiotic move coming from Cleveland.…

Good thing Nelson Mandela didn’t play in the NFL.
DeCastro was merely trying to keep Garrett and Mason Rudolph apart when Garrett clubbed Rudolph on the head w his helmet. DeCastro then tackled Garrett to the ground. Garrett even thanked DeCastro for doing that and keeping others off him.
Steelers G David DeCastro has been fined $14,037 by the NFL for unsportsmanlike conduct for his role in Myles Garrett incident. The NFL told DeCastro “peacemaking” or coming to aid of a teammate is not considered an excuse for a rules violation. He will appeal the fine.
To those who keep asking and wondering, @Juiceup__3 Diontae Johnson was not bleeding internally from his ear when drilled in the helmet by Browns S Damarious Randall. The blood was from a laceration on his ear as a result of the hit. Big difference...thankfully.

Mike Tomlin makes it official: Devlin Hodges will start against the Browns, for many of these reasons.… via @PittsburghPG
Tomlin on Duck: "It goes beyond Mason and his performance. Maybe some of those (injuries to other players) things have worn away at his play." He said move means nothing about Rudolph's forseeable future with the team.
Mike Tomlin said Devlin Hodges will start against Browns

Didn’t it take OT to beat the Steelers? Hmmm

Yep. And the Browns blasted them by 15 in Baltimore. Go figure
After winning in Seattle by 14 points and beating NE by 17 in back-to-back games, Ravens now have beaten Texans by 34 points and Rams in LA by 39 in back-to-back weeks. Does anyone really think there is a better team or a better player than Lamar Jackson right now in the NFL??

Mike Tomlin should start Devlin Hodges for Browns game and this is why he might.…
The decision to start either Mason Rudolph or Duck Hodges against the Browns isn't about who is the better QB. It will be about who gives the Steelers the best chance to win this game this week. And that, right now, is Hodges.
Duck has his helmet on and is coming in.
Duck is flapping his wing, warming up on sideline.
Steelers have now scored just three offensive TDs in the past 14 quarters. Their three biggest plays in the first half were provided by two newest players from other teams' practice squad -- runs of 16 and 21 yards by Kerrith Whyte Jr., catch of 35 yards by Deon Cain
