Can’t be stressed enough. A year & a half ago Brendon Todd was trying to qualify for the freaking Korn Ferry Tour. This season he has 2 wins + has put himself in contention in half of his starts since the return (including a WGC last week) & is tied for the lead @PGAChampionship
And, like you Amanda, he grew up in Pittsburgh area.

FYI: Today was supposed to be when the Steelers played against the Dallas Cowboys in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio.

I am not opting out of my weekly live #Steelers chat, so join me at 11 am ET today at post-gazette.com/sports/steeler…

Tomlin said he asked his players to show up for camp in shape and they have responded. "That was the Jello we couldn’t get back in the box if they showed up out of shape."

Tomlin said "I don’t know that I'm extremely confident" about the NFL season, given what has happened in baeball. "I think we're all proceeding with caution and working extremely hard not to become part of that."

Tomlin said he has no knowledge of any player who will decide to opt-out of the season. The deadline to do so is 4 pm today.

Mike Tomlin said he watched Ben Roethlisberger throw on Monday and Tuesday and "his velocity was excellent. Maybe his spiral could be a little tighter, I've seen it tighter, but nothing that is alarming."

Maybe we need a different word for a golf score, a brief moment of panic as I read “shoots 62” in today’s political climate.

BR said he was unaware of any other QB having surgery to reattach three tendons, but former Carolina QB Jake Delhomme had Tommy John surgery in 2007 to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and reattach all five tendons. Delhomme came back to start all 16 games in 2008.

Roethlisberger did not have Tommy John surgery because he did not damage the ulnar collateral ligament in his elbow. He had to have three of the five flexor tendons that tore away from the bone reattached. Those tendons are what allow quarterbacks to “spin” the ball.

Ben on his surgically repaired elbow: "I've had no setbacks. It feels really good." post-gazette.com/sports/steeler… via @PittsburghPG

Ben Roethlisberger said he didn't have Tommy John surgery; said he had three of the five flexor tendons torn from the bone. Unaware of any other QB having 3 tendons torn from the bone

Ben at 38 coming off surgery: "I still have a lot in the tank."

More Ben today: "I've had no setbacks. It feels really good. I was really excited about that."

Ben Roethlisberger on his elbow progress: "My arm feels really good. I threw a lot of balls yesterday and waking up today to see how it feels, it feels great. And that's what I was anticipating."

This doesn't put them out for the season does it? They can come back right

US Open at Winged Foot will not have spectators, USGA announced. That likely means the only event that has a chance to have spectators is the Masters in November. They call them “patrons” there.
