"White Christians" and "White evangelicals" are not interchangeable terms.

White Christians who are not "white evangelicals" include white Catholics, white mainline Protestants, white Mormons, etc.

Such a great thread. I'm so lucky to have grown up in a church that has now had three consecutive female pastors!

....Therefore, based on both Media & Democrat Crazed and Irrational Hostility, we will no longer consider Trump National Doral, Miami, as the Host Site for the G-7 in 2020. We will begin the search for another site, including the possibility of Camp David, immediately. Thank you!

Who is getting the most donations from clergy?

That’d be @PeteButtigieg, who has generated more media coverage about his religious beliefs than any other candidate.

2/3 When I started writing my book about progressive Christianity two years ago, I knew from the start that I’d dedicate the book to her. She was the person who most embodied for me what it means to follow Jesus. She was endlessly compassionate and loved every person she met. pic.twitter.com/k8yt4RH5OL

3/3 And she put her faith into action for the common good. She went to Nicaragua with Witness for Peace in the 80s to oppose the US-backed Contras. I‘m so grateful for the impact she had on our family and so many others.

What’s more offensive: @Paula_White’s Prosperity Gospel nonsense saying there’s a “Department of Treasury in Heaven” or the actual U.S. Department of Treasury rigging our economic system in favor of the wealthy?

A natural follow up to his “shithole countries” remarks.
Trump describing ethnic cleansing as a school yard fight b/w Turks & Kurds is more white nationalism. To him, they are just juvenile people of color, not real nations or informed adults like us. If they kill each other, it’s alright.

Sudden prominence is a very dehumanizing experience. There’s a part of your life that you lose, & it later dawns on you that you’ll never get it back.

The people who treat you like a human make all the difference.

The musical is written from Jamie’s perspective. So it starts with Kathy pining & features a soft turn from him in the endgame where she doesn’t get that. BUT. He’s the asshole & anyone who listens to this & doesn’t get that has comprehensions issues.

In reply to @GuthrieGF
Is it? I always think coming out that Jamie seems much, much worse than Cathy, and that the musical is a ham-fisted self-aggrandizing vague apology for his behavior.
Replying to @tlecaque
Interesting! I feel like “if I didn’t believe you” is very clearly one-sided in favor of Jamie, and I don’t think Cathy gets a comparatively sympathetic song. She’s just increasingly bitter — which serves to justify Jamie’s behavior.

Even though the Last Five Years is clearly written to be more sympathetic to Jamie’s perspective, I’m still very much team Cathy.
