Rain not too far off. Soggy later this evening and tonight

Man saw that outside this morning. Glad David got a pic of it!
Beautiful sky candy in Abita Springs this morning! 💙💜💖🧡 #goodmorning #lawx #louisiana pic.twitter.com/wFeirVmrPc

Wow! Only fitting. Unbelievable.

Has there been a better weekend of NFL playoff games?

Damn that’s one of the best games I’ve watched in a long time. These 2 qb are so good. What a game

Thanks to Jeff Jones a local resident of Orange Beach for capturing this stunning sunset yesterday evening.

I'd like tune in. To a episode of Skydawgs!!
hahaha dang it we suck. Actually told Matt a couple weeks ago let's record. He agreed. Then we didn't. Who would figure it's that hard to coordinate

A westward expansion of the Winter Storm Warning area is on the way for North Carolina.

Solid forecast overall. Precip light and already moving out. Just didn’t quite get the temps and precip rates to cause a big issue. ⁦@BrookeLaizer_Wx

Fantastic thread here for anybody curious about winter weather forecast and the science of it
Time for a little #science!
Let's examine the data from our morning weather balloon. The image is busy, but we'll break it down.

The red line is temp & blue line is dewpoint. We've notated the 3 freezing levels in dashed black lines and the freezing line in dashed blue.

Current radar showing some freezing rain and sleet in the areas we've highlighted the past couple of days. Temps still borderline so likely just minor road issues but be careful. Otherwise rain for the rest of the area.

Light ice accumulation being reported in Gonzales. While we haven't received any reports of ice on any bridges as of now, a light glaze remains possible over the next few hours in areas where the temperature is below freezing.

Light wintry mix moving in along I-55. These are the areas of main concern right now. This will mostly impact elevated roadways but be careful. Lot of ramps to 55 that are off the ground

Looks like a few snow flakes right now in Mandeville.

Checking in from our parking lot...this is a combination of liquid and a light glaze of ice now on some of our @WAFB vehicles. #LAwx

This is still very fringe to me. Right now Hammond the one spot at 32, so along and west of I-55 is where we could see some slick spots form over the next couple of hours

Once we get past the wintry precip this morning, there are a couple frigid nights ahead tonight and tomorrow night. Expect widespread freeze and hard freeze conditions.

Still not totally sold we get precip inland enough to meet up with freezing temps. But the chance for at least some light icing on bridges or elevated roads. Keep an eye on temps and radar overnight and tomorrow morning

Exciting NEWS! I’m honored and humbled to announce a promotion as your Good Morning New Orleans Meteorologist starting next week! Forecasting for our beloved city alongside this krewe is my wildest childhood dream come true! Wake up with us from 4:30AM-7AM Monday through Friday!

Still a low end chance of wintry precipitation tonight. Bigger story the cold moving in. Details here wgno.com/weather/winter…

Cold front on the move. Highs for the day were earlier. Everybody in the 40s by later this morning and this afternoon. Blustery as well

So is #Biloxi in the cold rain sector at this time? ❄️🥶❄️❓
Replying to @STEVORENO55
Yeah most likely. A lot of the moisture stays just offshore. If there's any around late Friday or Friday night you may get a couple flurries or something

Here's where I see the best chance of sleet or freezing rain Friday morning. This will be fine-tuned over the next 24-36 hours

Mild today and then rain tonight as winter comes back. Chance for a wintry mix Friday? My thoughts here. wgno.com/weather/spring…

Enjoy the next couple of days if you can. Winter back with gloomy and unpleasant weather Thursday/Friday. Weekend looks dry but chilly

Better late than never!
Fall colors have finally arrived (in January nonetheless) in the French Quarter. 🍂🍁

Spring back for a couple of days but then winter comes back for the end of the week. Details here wgno.com/weather/warmin…

Chilly morning! Nice warmup today though with low to mid 60s. Probably quite a bit of frost this morning though

Many of you may be waking up to find frost covering vehicle windows like this one, if so, you may need a bit more time to scrape or thaw before hitting the road

Low to mid 30s today. Sun is back today! Still cool but not bad with mid 50s

Nice again today but changes over the weekend. A few snow flurries up north? Details here wgno.com/weather/nice-t…

Happy Friday from Orange Beach.

Upper 30s north and low to mid 40s south this morning. Quick warm up though into the upper 60s for another beautiful day. Just a bit more cloud cover at times. Enjoy it, big changes over the weekend.

No changes to the thinking at the moment. For the Charlotte region, I’m leaning in the direction of an initial hit of snow followed by lots of mixed, icy precipitation types. Mountains remain mainly snow, and the foothills are likely a battleground with snow/ sleet. Video later…

Daddy wants to see some snow, but he's going to need a shift of that low

Chilly this morning with mid to upper 30s for most areas. Back into the mid 60s this afternoon though. A beautiful day ahead!

Damn. All the good ones about gone. Need some perspective from @lbjnola on this
Rosa Lee Hawkins, one of the three original singers in New Orleans rhythm & blues vocal trio the Dixie Cups, died Tuesday. She was 76.
