I know it’s not great climate change news that NYC is subtropical now but tbh I am kind of into all the thunder storms

I ordered a full-size desk, after months working on a 24 inch, $60 dollar manufactured wood nonsense from Amazon.

Honestly it feels great to invest in a nicer work set-up, see you all in 2022!

Just showed @realDonaldTrump's tweet to Kristin, a mother of 2 from the suburbs of Beaver County, PA. She literally laughed out loud & said this is what's hurting his chances with voters like her. She voted for him in 2016, he won Beaver by a landslide. She's undecided for 2020

This is the new front in the 2020 voting wars: placement of drop boxes. Wouldn't be happening if we did not have new concerns about the USPS's ability and willingness to move mail ballots.

Like all voting systems, the devil's in the details... implementation is *everything.*

There's loads of litigation and some legislation trying to tackle this stuff before November, but there's still a great risk of disenfranchisement when you're scaling a system like this under duress, in a pandemic. nbcnews.com/politics/2020-…

Mail voting proponents like VAHI have lots of ideas on how to make mail voting more fair (see below!) and advocates say they'd absolutely help, but only a handful of states are following all these best practices

A white person and a Black person vote by mail in the same state.

Whose ballot is more likely to be rejected?

Changes states are making to help protect voters from COVID-19 could disproportionately disenfranchise people of color. nbcnews.to/31Ner07

When did my Instagram feed become so much politics and text and why? Was it COVID and people having noting pretty to gram? Or just natural platform creep? It was a refuge, despoiled now.

The Wednesday before shutdown, I flew in from a work trip, dropped my travel bag at my apartment door, went to work, picked up sushi for lunch, saw a Broadway show. I was on-the-go for more than 48 hours and cannot imagine a time when that will be safe again.

(Gap was closed through the pandemic, to be clear; no indication if they will reopen in this NYT article)

I know this is small, but such a huge part of urban life in the Before Times was the stores and bathrooms and bars where women donned accessories and new stockings and fresh makeup to avoid going home for like 20 hours at a time!

The Rockefeller Center area Gap (where I occasionally bought new tights during the workday when mine ripped) has closed.

From what I read they shot the “finale” fully intending more episodes to follow and had to go back in and edit it to a reasonable pause

In reply to @janestreet
Yea. They were supposed to have 3 more episodes. I believe. Tapping in @joslinschultz for more info.
This makes a lot of sense. Unlike time on this show, where they are all 26 for approx 3 years

Wait really? I didn’t know it was that recent, I binged the whole thing in quar. It just ends so tragically. I don’t mind unfinished plot lines (Jane) but Sutton?!?? Our heroine?!? Her closure is like “hey maybs alcoholism will work!”
