Why don’t you help out and donate a gift of any value to help the food bank ?

Unfortunately “suggestions” for commercial and residential landlords are, for the most part, falling on deaf ears. I am afraid our city is going to look very different this summer.
Replying to @SupplyOttawa
If landlords don’t allow tenants to defer their rent to October then they won’t be eligible for the deferral themselves

During these difficult times, our most vulnerable #ottawa residents need our support.

Today I spoke with @harleyf & @OttawaFoodBank CEO @MichaelMaidment about how we can help.

OC Transpo service to Gatineau continues as planned and is currently unaffected by this new measure. If there is heavy traffic on the Chaudière Crossing, it is possible that some trips on Rte 85 will be delayed. We will continue to monitor the situation.

1/2 Today is rent day for tenants across the city. Many renters will pay because they can, but others won't be able to because they've lost their job in the last few weeks. I urge property owners and tenants to work together in order to find solutions that work for everyone.

2/2 If you’re a property owner who qualifies for the City's new Tax Hardship Deferral Program, please share those benefits with your tenants who need the flexibility through these difficult times. We're all in this together. Visit ottawa.ca/taxrelief for more information.

2/3 We know some MUPs have remaining ice buildup, and we will be deploying more resources to make them more passable and ready for use. Unless you are ill or under self-isolation, you can still go outside for a walk, which @ottawahealth recognizes is important for your health.
