Our buildings produce much of our climate pollution - largely because of natural gas. There are cleaner and better alternatives available. Banning new gas connections and appliances will help us ensure all new buildings are green buildings.

Lula remains in good shape to win the second round. But the unsettling fact that we're seeing rn is that the fascist right remains strong. Very strong. This isn't the blowout the polls were showing.

The global right lives. We have so much work to do.

I was in Ottawa during the convoy occupation and talked with residents who were harassed, threatened and unable to go to work.
It was a disgraceful abdication of civic leadership.
@JimWatsonOttawa you left people on their own.
Good riddance.

To silence you first, but also shut down anyone else who dares to make reasonable comments or ask questions.

A statement of defence has been filed, so is now public record. And I reiterate that what I said was fair comment, nuanced, and appropriate. Chandler's suit has no merit and is designed to prevent me from talking. It is the very definition of a SLAPP suit.

It is easy to file a statement of claim, but it is time consuming, stressful, and expensive having to acquire a lawyer and prepare a defence.

This is a SLAPP suit designed to silence me. I may have been temporarily silenced, on this matter, but not other politics, based on legal advice, but not for long. There is no merit to the case. Everything I said was fair comment as a longtime political commentator.

One concerned parent tonight at a roundtable discussion near Medicine Hat said, “It’s less expensive for me to send my child to U of T or Queen’s than U of C. That shouldn’t be the case.”

I couldn’t agree more.

In the last 2 weeks I have two separate threats against my family.
After the police stepped in, one of those callers called back claiming he could use "extreme deadly force" if the police showed up again.

Just a reminder inpatient nurses don’t work under doctors, are not overseen by doctors & absolutely do not “do the tasks the doctors don’t have time for.”

Doctors are not trained on & do not know how to do the vast majority of our skills.

Translating Poilievre: what he’s really saying is that he’ll use inflation as a pretext to make deep cuts to public spending and give more handouts to profitable corporations and the rich. None of this will reduce inflation, but it will make his rich buddies happy. Don’t buy it!

Thinking the earth is flat is a harmless conspiracy theory, but thinking that Trudeau is deploying climate cops is a dangerous conspiracy theory. Unhinged individuals will now target federal govt bureaucrats who are simply doing their job. A job that others have done for decades

The thug who harassed @cafreeland has a history of harassing his neighbours, too. Including children. This anecdote demonstrates two things. 1) not all Albertans are noxious extremists like this guy. 2) there’s an ongoing pattern of harassment. Why hasn’t he been charged?

For folks that don’t know, the north is in a healthcare crisis, which has gotten worse since the only walk-in clinic in the #Yukon closed its doors. Without a doctor, in order to access anything, even a prescription refill, you go to emergency. It’s inefficient and frustrating.

Elsewhere she promised to fire the "Board" of the College of Physicians and Surgeons. The gov't can't do that without changing legislation, but the idea that she would want to politicize professional regulators is frightening.

If Indigenous people try to block a railroad to protest oil & gas, arrest them. If white people block a highway to the US border to protest covid restrictions, ask them nicely to leave.

Apparently the role of govt is not to pass laws. It is to tell the police what laws to enforce, which individuals you enforce them, and those individuals that you don't enforce. That is what we mean by rule of law. Right?

Not just report. They made very clear that they have no problem meddling in specific enforcement matters, eg staying charges against their buddy pastors. Apparently, interfering w/ attorney generals & prosecutorial discretion is only a problem when it’s Trudeau doing it.

Smith, Loewen, and Jean make it clear that the real purpose of replacing RCMP with a provincial force is not to combat rural crime, or exercise autonomy from Ottawa, it is to have the police report to provincial govt and not enforce federal gun laws.
