As the world remains obsessed with building a democracy in #Ukraine, Taliban just dissolved several key institutions of what used to be a growing democracy in Afghanistan, which @NATO let down last August. This is a tragedy for Afghans, who paid with our lives for #democracy. 1/2

While this is the right call by @UN, @antonioguterres needs to go big after the animal agriculture industry, especially after #cows that continue generating more greenhouse emissions than fossil fuels. He must encourage the developed world to consume and waste less #beef. Now!

We feel vindicated and thank Congressionally funded @SIGARHQ for its findings on how the premature withdrawal of @NATO from 🇦🇫 and the failed Doha Agreement brought about the collapse of the Islamic Republic, effectively giving Taliban a total victory.

Because 1,000s of Afghans have been killed, maimed, and displaced internally and externally -- directly resulting from the findings of @SIGARHQ -- relevant US and international legal institutions must seek accountability, reparations and justice for suffering Afghans. 2/2 @UN

Ask @Zabehulah_M33 to share the pictures of those returnees. When they're dismantling the Afghan State and disappearing its best capacities, no patriotic Afghans will ever return to join a foreign terrorist project, systematically undoing the hard-won gains of all Afghans. @UN

Taliban claimed that more than 50 political figures had returned to Afghanistan for their elder meeting. But, they will not disclose them for security reasons. The question is, who is posing a security threat to those figures?

This is part of the Taliban’s propaganda. No patriotic intellectuals have been contacted, nor will they return to chaos. They're mostly approaching West-based (e.g. too many in the UK) Talib-minded ethnic-nationalists, manageable by intelligence agents of their host nations.

There's a difference between saying "Western influence over Taliban" is limited and the fact that the West let down Afghanistan’s developing democracy and is no longer interested in supporting the hard-won gains of the Afghan people against sanctioned terrorists. @LaurelMillerICG

@amanpour needs to tell this simple story: in the past Taliban used to kill and maim Afghans by means of direct violence. Today, they take Afghan lives by other means: banning women from work, denying girls education, a massive brain-drain, disappearing intellectuals, etc. @UN

“Women are bearing the brunt of hunger in Afghanistan,” says the @WFP’s Mary-Ellen McGroarty. “I meet many young women who are the only breadwinner in the family, and can’t go to work. It is absolutely heartbreaking.” pic.twitter.com/YE0JcR2jVL

“Western influence over Taliban policies, over how they govern, how they treat women, is extremely limited,” says @LaurelMillerICG. “It’s important to continue to provide support for Afghan livelihoods… otherwise the country’s going to be in perpetual humanitarian crisis.” pic.twitter.com/otPekDbcGr

@amanpour could go around and ask a few families whether their girls go to school. Then she could confront sanctioned terrorists, exposing their lies. She knows between good journalism and what may be a setup interview to deliberately whitewash and normalize terrorists' misrule.
Despite repeated promises to let Afghan girls learn, the Taliban haven't re-opened girls' secondary schools. But Afghan Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani claims “there is no one here who opposes education for women… Very soon, you will hear very good news about this issue.” pic.twitter.com/Aj0EivR1ed

Taliban on public walls: "We defeated America..." No, US left because of other priorities like Ukraine, etc. Taliban as mercenaries of America's client-state next door only fought and butchered suffering Afghans last year this time, as they didn't touch a single @NATO soldier.

When unemployment is almost 100% under sanctioned Taliban, whose misrule Afghans reject, there is hardly any income to pay for food, despite food availability. Millions are on the verge of famine and starvation. @WFP_Afghanistann @WFPChief should highlight this louder! @UNAMAnews

Per our calls for accountability under all relevant international human rights instruments, the visit by @SR_Afghanistan is welcome; overdue. Victimized communities should be given top priority.

Israeli forces are outdone by their superior competitors: Taliban forces are daily targeting, assassinating, and forcibly disappearing Afghan journalists. We went from being the freest press in the region to total media blackout. Afghans condemn any assassination of journalists.

- 3.2 میلیون کودک دچار سوء تغذیه هستند

- بودجه @UN تمام می شود و پوشش کمک ها را از 38 درصد افغان ها به 8 درصد تا جون کاهش می دهد

Very pleased to see this proposal by PM @RW_UNP to nominate a female MP to become the next Deputy Speaker. Sri Lankan women are visibly underrepresented in South Asia's oldest democracy. More women across the gov would ensure more sustainable development initiatives and gains.

Very little may reach the targeted beneficiaries, as @UNICEFAfg knows better.

Taliban cannot be defeated unless they are deprived of their exploitative claim to be empowering Pashtuns, whom they have victimized and brutalized the most over the past 20 years. Every single Pashtun tribal leader on both sides of Durand Line has been killed by Taliban and ISI.
