A large area of severe weather potential on Friday, but some crucial details still remain uncertain. Machine learning probabilities on the left with the official SPC forecast on the right showing spatial similarities.

🌡 Chasing 80° on Friday. BIG wind. Gusts near 50 mph. #MOwx #KSwx @kmbc

Fascinating stuff right here.
It’s been a while since I’ve shared something interesting from my research so here’s a visualization of vortex identification and tracking done by the Enhanced Watershed & Hungarian Tracking algorithms! Hoping to use these objects & tracks for further analysis using trajectories pic.twitter.com/eGMMu7ksTI

Higher severe probabilities have expanded farther west to include portions of 65-HWY from Marshall to Warsaw. Storms may initiate as far west as the KS/MO state line near Kansas City Friday afternoon. All types of severe weather possible with damaging wind the main threat. @kmbc

I can't speak to the specific frequency of the pattern, but I can say it's one we've seen before in early spring. Typically, a favorable one multi-episode severe weather events within a short span of time, i.e., a few days to a week or so.

A chilly start to the week, but it will get much warmer and windier Thursday and Friday. Light rain showers could mix with snowflakes overnight into Tuesday morning. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Friday afternoon and evening. #MOwx #KSwx @kmbc

⚡Severe weather potential increases Friday afternoon and evening. This week would be a good time to review & update your severe weather safety plan, ensure you have multiple ways to receive weather alerts & check the forecast twice a day. #MOwx #KSwx @kmbc

What was almost certainly a strong to violent tornado just impacted Rolling Fork, MS a few minutes ago, lofting debris above 30,000 feet(!) and producing a strong, long-lived velocity couplet above 80 kt, all of which point to an extremely high-caliber tornado #mswx

Looking upstream to investigate and then predict what could augment the target storm environment is a great forecasting practice often overlooked or neglected. Solid analysis, my friend!

An outbreak of severe weather is expected across the Lower MS Valley this afternoon & evening. Tornadoes, some strong to potentially intense, are expected. HRRR neural network & fcst soundings for the Moderate Risk area show a volatile environment this evening. #LAwx #ARwx #MSwx

If only we didn't have clouds over Kansas City! You probably would have been able to see the northern lights overnight/early this morning.

☔ Chilly and wet weather today through the weekend. Keeping a close eye on snow chances Friday night into early Saturday morning. For now, that chance is confined to communities north of Kansas City across northern Missouri. #MOwx #KSwx @kmbc

⚡A few hail-producing thunderstorms are possible overnight in an area of strong, deep-layer wind shear and sufficient elevated instability/buoyancy. #MOwx @kmbc

@NickBenderKMBC Just asking: how long does it take you to prepare your morning forecast? You are a master class every morning.

Thank you, my friend. About 30 to 60 minutes with updates throughout the morning as new data become available.

🌤 The sun will peek out of the clouds Saturday. Write it down! @kmbc

⚡ 6:25 AM. A few thunderstorms are likely this morning within a zone of elevated instability and strong upper-level jet stream... especially north of I-70 on the Missouri side. #MOwx #KSwx @kmbc

🌡 Are you team warmer and cooler? A warm from will bisect the Kansas City area from west to east this afternoon resulting in quite the difference in temperature from north to south. #MOwx #KSwx @kmbc

🌫️ Here’s your Wednesday morning weather update for March 22, 2023. #KCwx @kmbc

☔ We won't see much sun for the remainder of the week. Prepare for a rainy, chilly and windy morning. There is at least some potential of a few strong thunderstorms Wednesday night with the main threat being large hail up to the size of quarters. @kmbc

I went Sunday morning. I try to go once a week. It was a choice between catching up on sleep or go fishing. I sacrificed sleep ... and I'll do it again! #BassFishing pic.twitter.com/kJRTFFoL9d
