Powell was fully vaccinated, according to the family statement. "We want to thank the medical staff at Walter Reed National Medical Center for their caring treatment. We have lost a remarkable and loving husband, father, grandfather and a great American," the family said.

The experts I interviewed say this is a result of bias, systemic racism and “Missing White Women Syndrome” in which missing White women gain more media attention than any other demographic.
