With Trump and Netanyahu at the helm, the crisis in Israel/Palestine has escalated to the point where politicians can no longer hide behind the promise of a two-state solution. It is time to #DefundOccupation

Sincere question for The Blaze’s @rubinreport if it’s ok for your guest to call you this, why on earth did you refuse to sit down with me because my contributor called you “stupid” (for which i reprimanded him and apologized for)? #maybetheidwisnotwhatitclaims

These folks were kind enough to group all the candidates who offer nothing on Israel/Palestine beyond repeating the old, tired rhetoric & idiotically one-sided policies that brought us endless death & conflict for decades. Thanks!

Replying to @DemMaj4Israel @SenatorBennet and 7 others
So these are the candidates who are using the same old, tired rhetoric that brought us endless conflict in Israel/Palestine? Good to know! Let's hope a more progressive candidate who cares about justice actually wins.

Senators @BernieSanders and @ewarren are the ONLY two presidential candidates (so far) whose response to the latest flare up in Gaza acknowledges the violence committed against Palestinians and calls for a lifting of the Gaza blockade. Thank you Senators!

Bernie Sanders, too, addressed the occupation and blockade:

There are not perfect statements (if issued by a human rights organization or Palestine solidarity activist group, they would be lacking), but in the context of long-standing U.S. political discourse, these are huge improvements which we should welcome and build on!

Unlike Biden, Buttigieg, Klobuchar and Booker, Elizabeth Warren's response to the latest flare up had the decency to acknowledge Palestinian deaths & the common sense to call for a lifting of Israel's blockade on Gaza:

Bernie Sanders, too, addressed the occupation and blockade:
Israelis should not have to live in fear of rocket fire. Palestinians should not have to live under occupation and blockade. The U.S. must lead the effort to end the crisis in Gaza and the persistent violence that threatens everyone.

I welcome the Gaza ceasefire. Dozens were killed in Gaza, and hundreds of rockets fired at Israel. We must work to end rocket attacks on Israel, eliminate the Gaza blockade, and solve the humanitarian crisis so that all Israelis and Palestinians live in security and freedom.

When reporters dutifully report Israeli military claims about #s of rockets fired from Gaza without ever enumerating Israeli fire into Gaza, they help create an alternate reality about the actual balance of threat & vulnerability, enabling further Israeli violence.

This is BS. Not sure why Wolf Blitzer is so defensive here or let’s Conway give an uninterrupted faux-outraged speech here. *Of course* it’s newsworthy & commentworthy that Trump & co callevery single critic ‘fake news’ and ‘the left’ when one of the most vocal is her husband.

Shame on you, Senator, ignoring the Palestinian victims of Israeli aggression (dozens of whom have died, including families and children). This is a pathetic recitation of old and tired talking points that does nothing to advance long term peace or justice. Do better!

I strongly condemn the rocket attacks against Israel. Our security aid to Israel ensured the damage wasn’t worse—that support must continue.

But with each senseless act of violence, more innocent lives are lost. As a new ceasefire takes hold, I urge restraint & calm in the area.

When whole families asleep in their own homes in Gaza are blown up by targeted Israeli airstrikes, the "self defense" refrain of Israeli hasbara (and its apologists) rings hollow & sinister as a vile justification of mass murder & other #IsraeliCrimes. #FreePalestine.

Are you serious - 'Islamic Jihad bombards Israel?' But 34 Palestinians are dead, homes/schools/infrastructure destroyed and over 100 injured. Is this Israeli public relations or journalism?

In an alternate universe where @RepLeeZeldin is capable of shame, he would be feeling like a jackass today, now that we know with irrefutable evidence that Miller is a white nationalist. But Zeldin is shameless so his jackassery will proceed undisturbed.
During my time in Congress before @IlhanOmar got here, I didn't once witness another Member target Jewish people like this with the name calling & other personal attacks. In 2019 though, for @IlhanOmar, this is just called Monday.

.@Reuters should be embarrassed by this piece. Student journalists would have done a better job on such a historic day. But Reuters decided to let Eric Trump write their headline:

Palestinians are being massacred by a country that has occupied & besieged them for decades, and which keeps provoking fresh violence against them, and all American politicians can talk about is the occupiers' right to "self defense" against their victims.
"Six members of a Palestinian family were killed in an Israeli air strike on the Gaza Strip on Thursday, all of them civilians, medical officials and residents said, bringing the death toll in the territory from a 48-hour surge in fighting to 32."
aljazeera.com/news/2019/11/i…

If this is all he has to say amid the death raining down on Gaza, then this man guarantees a return to the same failed policies that perpetuated this conflict for decades. He shouldn't be the 1st choice of any progressive who cares about peace or justice.
Israel has a right to defend itself against terrorist threats. It is intolerable that Israeli civilians live their lives under the constant fear of rocket attacks. That's why our administration was such a strong supporter of Israel's life-saving Iron Dome. nbcnews.com/news/world/isr…

Stefanik argues that the two crucial facts are: (1) Ukraine received the aid; (2) there was no investigation into Biden. If you withhold an employee's paycheck unless they kill your wife, and they don't do it, and then people find out about it so you pay them, it's still a crime.

Imagine what media coverage would be like if Islamic Jihad had besieged Israel for 12 yrs, then provoked fresh violence by assassinating an IDF commander, killing his wife & injuring their children in the process.

Now watch how the blame is obscured when Israel is the aggressor.

I spent last week in Israel visiting communities, schools, & hospitals. My takeaway was that there's no goal more important than peace b/w Israel & Palestine, as difficult as it may be to achieve. I stand with Israel, & my heart goes out to the families targeted by these attacks.

Israel’s Iron Dome defense system, which has intercepted the vast majority of the rockets, is a reminder of the importance of strong U.S.-Israel cooperation to protect Israel’s security and its ability to defend itself.

Given the rising Palestinian death toll, got any thoughts on the Palestinian right to self-defense? Any plans to offer them military assistance to defend themselves from Israeli aggression? Or are Israel's victims invisible to you?

For the second day in a row, Israel is facing a barrage of rocket attacks fired from Gaza. Schools and businesses in southern Israel and even in Tel Aviv have been forced to close to ensure the safety of civilians.
