Hurricane Ian has created unprecedented impacts like this. We can all play a part - regardless of our neighborhood - and limit water usage to relieve stress on our sewage system.
Together we can relieve the stress on the sewage system.

Public Works is working diligently to repair the system and pump away excess water. All residents and businesses citywide should severely limit water usage until further notice.

Members of Florida US&R Task Force 4 and Orlando’s Dive team conducted numerous water rescues within the city. Hurricane Ian brought historic flooding, as approximately 300 people were evacuated with some areas receiving in excess of 14 inches of water.
Since Hurricane Ian left our region, @citybeautiful employees have worked tirelessly to assist our community. The work is ongoing and will continue as our team focuses on recovery efforts.

After consultation with Orange County officials, schools will NOT reopen Monday, Oct. 3 due to safety concerns and continued power outages at several schools. Our plan is to reopen schools and resume normal operations Tues., October 4. 
Activities will resume sometime next week.

Residential trash and recycling collection will resume with its normal schedule on Monday, October 3, 2022.
Joining @OrlandoFireDept personnel and @citybeautiful staff as they assess damage and assist residents. Ian brought historic flooding with its heavy rain and the storm has impacted so many neighborhoods.

Hurricane Ian Update - Sept. 28 | 9:45a:
Effective at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 28 until further notice all LYNX services will be off the street to comply with Central Florida’s emergency operations request to keep all roads clear for emergency situations.
I'm grateful for our City staff who are helping our community get prepared for the storm's potential impacts.
Our crews are proactively cleaning storm drains checking rain gauges and other lake monitoring equipment. Staying out as long as possible to ensure our roads stay clear by removing fallen debris as the storm approaches.

Conditions will deteriorate today. Rain amounts of 12-18" w/ isolated amts of 24" will cause CATASTROPHIC flooding across portions of Central FL. Its time to shelter in place & be ready to take action when warnings are issued.

Major Hurricane Ian is a Category 3 storm, moving northward across western Cuba. Impacts to east central FL will begin as early as tonight, with flooding rain, tropical storm force winds & tornados as the main threats.
