Republicans had multiple opportunities to work with Democrats to protect the future of our democracy by passing strong federal voting rights legislation.

They chose not to.

We must keep speaking out to protect all essential health care for patients. #AbortionIsEssential

We’ve made a lot of progress towards rebuilding our economy from the COVID-19 pandemic.

But parents have made it clear: getting back to work means lowering their child care costs and making it easier to find. Let’s pass #BuildBackBetter and get it done.

The pandemic made clearer than ever how urgently we must address health inequities. Developing a more diverse health workforce will help ensure our communities can get the care they need—& we can go further by building off the American Rescue Plan & passing #BuildBackBetter.
Today I announced our administration launched an historic $1.5 billion investment to help grow and diversify our nation’s health care workforce. This investment will help create more equitable health care in the communities that need it most. whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/…

Twice every year, we switch our clocks and blow up our sleep schedules for no good reason. I’m tired of it, and the people of Washington state have made clear they are too. Thanks for having me on your show to talk about my push to make Daylight Saving Time permanent, @jonlovett.
Great episode out now, with @guybranum on the week's news, @PattyMurray on the path to fixing daylight saving time, and we go to our live show where @solomongeorgio and I solicit some very hot gossip from the audience.

Even in the year 2021, the transgender community continues to face cruelty, bigotry, & violent attacks

On this #TransDayOfRemembrance, we remember all those lost due to violence & hate. We must stay focused on ensuring equal protection under law & full acceptance in our society.

From the start, I've made it absolutely clear: we need both the bipartisan infrastructure law and the #BuildBackBetter Act to give families, workers, and small businesses the opportunities they need to succeed. The Senate should vote on Build Back Better as soon as possible.

Tonight the House GOP leader made it clear he’s for higher child care & health care costs for families, climate inaction, and an economy that only works for the super wealthy. Democrats disagree and that’s why we’re fighting to #BuildBackBetter.

Dr. Saule Omarova is a highly qualified nominee to lead @USOCC.

Senate Republicans’ attacks on her national origin today were racist, period.

A senator’s job is to evaluate nominees on their merits—not spread harmful misconceptions about their backgrounds.
Professor Saule Omarova is one of the most qualified nominees we've EVER had to be Comptroller of the Currency.

Yet Senate Republicans have turned an accomplished woman into a Marxist boogeyman.

We need to continue to prioritize Tribal communities in all of our policymaking—and we can again with the #BuildBackBetter Act, which will help lower child care and health care costs for Tribal families, address the housing crisis in Indian Country, and much more.
Replying to @PattyMurray
But there’s more work to be done. We must continue to address the epidemic of missing or murdered Indigenous women, ensure Native peoples are represented in our government and judicial systems, and so much more. I’ll keep pushing ahead on this important work.

When we passed the American Rescue Plan to get America up and running again earlier this year, it was the single largest federal investment in Tribes ever. I’ve spoken to so many Tribal leaders in Washington state about what this relief has meant.

Washington state has 29 federally-recognized Tribes. And in my state, we understand the importance of the sovereignty of Tribal governments. And we know our commitment to them must be more than just words—it has to be action.

If Senate Republicans aren’t willing to stand up for our democracy, we can’t let them hide behind Senate rules and block Democrats from doing so on our own. We must use every legislative tool needed—including an exemption to the filibuster—to get voting rights legislation passed.

The #BeHEARD Act is critical legislation that will help address harassment and discrimination in the workplace by expanding protections for workers and ensuring they get the accountability and justice they deserve. I’m proud to re-introduce it today.

Upholding #RoeVWade isn't just about protecting the constitutional right to abortion, it’s what the majority of Americans want.

Extreme Republicans are trying to create a country most people don’t want—and we’ve all got to speak out to stop them.

For too long, the epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls has torn apart Tribal communities in WA state and across the country. It’s great @POTUS is taking action to address this crisis, and I'll keep building on that work.
